ING Direct

I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with this thing, ING direct? I think it also operates under the name orange bank or something?

Someone on another poker forum mentioned it. I was wondering if it looked legit or worth the time and stuff? Basically, any experience or knowledge of this stuff.

I have a savings account with them, and also a home equity loan. It's absolutely legitimate... I've had no problems at all. It's easy to transfer money to and from a checking account... manually or automatically.

They are FDIC insured, and as of the time of this post, their current interest rate is 3.0%... one of the best out there. Also, there are no fees, and no minimums.

Sounds like I work there But, I don't... just a satisifed customer.

ING rocks. I've had an account there for a while. Nice interest rate and quick electronic transactions. Much better than keeping large sums in Neteller. My ING account is strictly for poker funds right now.

I used to work for ING. Absolutely legit, very strong company, great banking too.

only real catch is that you've got to have a "real" bank account at a local bank in order to make withdrawals. You've got to "link" the ING account to your local bank account and it can take a few days to get the money out of the ING account.

Bottom line: go for it. Just don't close all of your other bank accounts.

Also....i think i've even seen where ING will give you a $50 bonus for new accounts.

Can I used ING directly with my neteller account? If so, can I change my banking info at neteller? I couldn't find a link at neteller to do this, and they haven't responded to my email yet.

You can use ING with Neteller, but if you've already registered a bank account, I think you'll have to call customer support to do so. It looks like their website is set up to register only one bank account.

I have always found Neteller customer support to be competent and friendly, so you should have no problems if you are permitted to change banks (the difficulty is most likely for security reasons only).

You'll need your ING account number and the routing number, which you can find by clicking on your account (Orange Savings or some such) and then the "Direct Deposit Form for this Account" link that appears under the interest reported for your account.

Yes, exactly how I have it set up.

those are really attractive interest rates, and if you can get your money out in a timely manner and have no minimums, it sounds even better.

minimum is $50 to open. Transactions to your local bank are a day or two. It may take a few days for your verification deposit to occur (the one or two deposits they will make that are less than $1).

They also have a routing number, so you can use the account for EFT's if you want.

koolmoe: Which kind of ING Direct account do you link to Neteller? I'd like to open an Investment Savings Account (US$ ISA), but I'm not sure if Neteller will link to a savings account (I only see chequing accounts mentioned on Neteller site).

P.S. I'm in Canada so the accounts might be different.

As far as I know, I thought you could only link checking accounts, but that's just me.

Hehe. I wouldn't be that satisfied if i were you. ING Direct in the UK offer 4.5%. FINALLY... something that is better in the UK.
