Default mini-op 10k hands in one day = get my confidence back

so i got my arse handed to me at 200nl.
Ima gonna sort my shit out at 50nl, after taking yesterday off playing poker
I want to thrash 50nl for a few hands for ego and confidence reasons before heading back to 100nl...

    Goal. Saturday 29/8/2009 - play 10k hands at 50nl at 7.5+ptBB/100

halfway there so far, about to head out for a run to get my mojo back. Then hit the back nine....

What is that going to do for you? When you make it you're like 'yay, positive winrate @lolNL', if you don't make it you'll be like 'oh noes I iz getting pwned @ teh spzial olypmikz'.

I think dropping down is great to regain confidence, but setting a goal in terms of winrate isn't such a great idea. All it does is making you focus on the results even harder, which was the reason why you lost confidence in the first place.

A better operation imo would be to remove winrate and winnings from your tracker, and not look at the graph for the rest of the operation... and for a bonus, don't even look at it after you're done.

Good luck man, but I agree with oskar about setting a win rate goal. 10k hands could end up as a massive heater, or a massive downswing. You can't really predict what is going to happen, so if you don't run well enough to possibly obtain that win rate you're targeting, you're going to feel even worse than you did before.

I think moving down for a bit is a good idea though, putting your bankroll before your ego takes alot of discipline.

oskar, micro - you guys are probably right. But I'm gonna post a hands/winnings update anyway

I'm beginning to think that i'm going to get kinda tired before 10k hands are up. I've already noticed myself starting to call too much, generally indicates tiredness.
I'll see how I feel after some food.

    6.5k hand update.

    i quit
quite a cool day poker-wise. That's enough mucking around at 50nl for the moment i think. Especially stoked that i made it given that the last 4k hands were very much b-game territory.

i'll try it again in a month, to see if it was a fluke
