Hello FTR!
We have finally converted over to vBulletin. You will notice there are still some kinks we need to work out, and would GREATLY appreciate any feedback. If you find any errors, bugs, or something that isn't working as it should, please let us know in this thread.
The forum speed should now increase tremendously. It may take us some time to get everything fixed, but I think it is a fair trade off.
Thanks for your patience!

Anyone experiencing a refresh bug? I seem to have to refresh every time I go to load a page.

warpe is not Warpe without his avatar imo.
I miss the spades, I hope these note thingies are not permanent. The look and feel of the board is a bit different.
Good News is logging in and navigating is faster for me.
edit.Quick Reply was really quick.

I think it'd look better with the old forum icons for no posts, new posts, etc., although I also imagine that's to come anyway?
As for the avatars, as it was said in the other thread, in the user profile, options, edit options, you can turn on avatars, signiatures and images. Is there a way to make this the default setting for users, admin/mods?
I dunno about a refresh bug, but I had to clear my cache to get it to stop auto-loading the message that was up while you guys were changing over, every time I went to a new part of the forum.
Avatars seem to be messing up the formatting of posts. Like Because Warpe's avatar's wider than JR9947's, Warpe's posts start further along, and some other stuff. I'm definitely not keen for reduced avatars, but hopefully there's another solution. This is in Safari on Mac OS, but I'm pretty sure based on IRC chat that the problems are there for other people to. Hang on, I'll upload an image to photobucket:

Hope that helps.
EDIT: Definitely have a refresh bug. Pages appear to load fine, but they're just a carbon-copy of the last time I saw them, which obviously isn't great for a forum since I can't see new posts in thread without refreshing (or indeed in which threads there are new posts from the forum overview thing without refreshing).

I made avatars, sigs, and images enabled by default.
Yes, old new post images should be on the way.
Yes, the refresh bug sucks. Looking into it.
Good point about the avatars, it is messing things up. I'll bring that up as well.
Thanks for the feedback so far!

I didn't read this thread to see if it's been posted yet, but it's hard to tell what links are in posts/looks the same as regular text to me.

Guys, I have been working with gmml a bit and am finding that I need to F5 some pages, the forum is not updating as well as it should. Use F% when your having issues with forums not opening or getting logged out. Any time you have an issue try clearing eh cache first.

When I try to go to Poker Forums - Powered by vBulletin it can't load, gives me a page saying there's been a database error, please try refreshing (refreshing yields the same page). However following a link directly to one of the forums (eg. Beginners Circle - Poker Forums ) works fine.

This. Can't post in the SNG forum either, if I try to post it reverts to the thread that I tried to post in and continually refreshes. Weird!

Okay. I've got an issue in Firefox which keeps bumping me to the top of the page after I post, and in Chrome I log in, get the "Thank you for logging in" message and then get kicked. So far, only IE seems to work reliably.

Interesting, mine were disabled by default and I had to go change it myself. If possible, you may want to manually turn them on for all existing users by default and then do a test to see if a new user will have it on by default.

Can't make new threads at all in SHNL forum this which is pretty annoying. Just getting a screen saying I don't have sufficient privilages, asking me to sign in with another account etc. I can make new threads in other forums. I was making one last night around the time this all happened so Idk if that's fucked things up.
Be grateful if someone could fix this or tell me how to.

coming back to a thread from the view posts since last visit results brings up a cached version, not the newest post(s), so you have to refresh once you're in the thread. using IE at work.

Same here from "veiw posts since last visit" with firefox. I also get caught up in a ton of refresh loops when clicking on the "newest post" icon and opening in a new tab.

F5 celtic, F5 a ton of pages. If the page was fucked up before it stays fucked up when you try to revisit. Go to teh main forum and F5, click a link and F5. It's being worked on.

Forum is very fast far better than the old version, but when I try to look at the SNG forum I get this:
Quote:
Your submission could not be processed because the token has expired.
Please push the back button and reload the previous window.
|
Also, certain pages seem to continually refresh every second or so, particularly once I've posted. BTW I managed to post in the SNG forum (eventually).

Looking into the permissions thing now.
Guys, please everyone clear your cache! I think the refresh bug is gone now.
It still might not be 100% worked out with forums, but threads should be okay. We're looking deeper into the forum issue.

"- When viewing the last post in a thread (or when replying to a thread and are redirected to view last post), there is a bug that keeps reloading the page... it's stuck in a refresh loop."
Is anyone still experiencing this?

I know ive been told to use F5 for refresh. Doesnt do much for me here.
Im not sure where to post this, as I cant currently start new threads.
So if its ok, Ill post some feedback here. It may help you ,I hope im not hindering things.
1) The only way I can navigate here , Is using the Jump feature at the botton of the page.
2) cant start new threads.
3) The PEachy colour of FRT doesnt look good Vbulleton
4) Blue would look better, but then we would look like 2+2
5) the Fonts are hard on the eyes.
6)GgoogleChromw is a NO NO.
7) posting a test picture
Not a rant. Just feed back.

hmm... damnit. vBulletin uses the same style definition for message body text links as the forum titles on the index. Can't help it.

Xianti, I was just dicking around for a couple minutes and I think this might be all you need to add to your stylesheet:
.alt1Active a:link {
color: #000;
}
a:link strong {
color:#000;
}
.alt1 a:link, .alt1_alink, .alt1Active_alink
{
color: #00f;
text-decoration: none;
}
Note how .alt1Active a:link is removed from the original cluster of .alt1 type link definitions (the bottom of the 3 definitions), this was all under the styles defined by VBulletin id'd as vbulletin_css. Didn't really look around the forum to see exactly everything this change affected but it worked in the main forum index and within threads.
Still having issues with any form of viewing new posts since my last visit not working. Cleared caches did relaods and all that garbage, getting nothing tho.

Actually never mind about the new posts thing. It seems to have just started working. Might be because I'm on my Mac now, dunno if it's still an issue with my PC.

Also, with the message content always showing up at the bottom of the avatar, add the following to the styles:
td.alt1 {
vertical-align: top;
}
Once again, just kinda doing this stuff between hands so I'm not giving it a full check to see how it's affecting the rest of the forum.

Nevermind, it turns the topics listed when in a forum blue as well
