I bounce back and forth as to how to play this sort of thing, but what I tell myself (which may not be true) is that sometimes when the board is this wet nobody's going to be calling unless they have a pretty strong hand. And if that's true, there isn't really a correct strategy here other than taking a guess as to when the fish will bite.
Somewhat true, but bets are smaller on the flop, and someone may call with a gutshot or whatever. The turn card can kill the little action you may have (4th diamond, board pairing) and even with a blank, with the bigger bet, worse odds...
