who? the sneaky crafty wily ginger who's just trying to get comfy? sure thing, boss
Think I noticed something nifty: Maester Luwin never sent the ravens to Pyke, like Theon commanded. He probably sent them all over, which would explain why Robb got three ravens from three different places at the same time. This means that Theon is gonna get fuuuuuuucked.
On top of that, the guy who's leading the force to retake Winterfell is the son of the guy who thinks flaying somebody is always the answer. I think Theon is in for a really, really, really bad time. Then he'll die shortly thereafter
I wonder if GRRM realized that he's writing the Wildlings to be much different than perceived. This is borne out of comments from Halfhand like "she'll bury an axe in you if given half a chance". This type of thing is a setup for why preconceptions are later going to be shattered. Also, there's some serious foreshadowing in Halfhand telling Jon "you can't tame a wild thing, can't trust them". This means that Jon will have to do just that. My guess is with Ygrette
As the world's biggest lush for a good love story, I'll say there's very little actual chemistry between Robb and What's-her-face, but a ton between Jon and Ygrette. I'm positive a love story develops out of Robb and that girl, but I guarantee it's not going to be that good
Saw this on /b/ in a "pick one to bang" thread. Fuckin lol'd at number 9

Brienne FTW.
What in the fuck. I have heard of high standards and shit, but man, jesus.
First off a 2/10 for that chick when she's all rugged and dirty and shit is still ridic low. Where does say, 40% of the female population fall, in your books? I am referring to any woman over 35 and overweight, or just plain ugly, etc etc. Do these women get 2/10? or do you have a huge grouping at 1/10 or 0/10?
Clean that chick up, she's an 8/10 easily. Add makeup and shit and she gets up to 8.5 at least. And I'm not even especially talking about her body.
Damn, I remember seeing her in season 1 when Theon hit on her in the first place and I realized even then she could be hot if she weren't all nasty and fucking dirty.
Anyway, in conclusion, you're crazy.
She's never an 8.5, but neither is she ever a 2.
Anyways, the only scale of any use is the binary scale.
Ya, wuf, I picked up on Halfhand's foreshadowing on my rewatch. I've definitely got a crush on Ygrette. She's pretty, but it's the attitude that really does it, am patiently waiting more screen time with her.
Random: Some game was on TNT at the bar I work at, it ended, and then Braveheart came on. I was taken aback by how bad the costumes and sets were... That was a huge budget movie, and compared to GoT the props and sets and all that look like something from a highschool play. It's crazy what skilled prop masters/costume designers/cinematographers can do to really immerse you in a fictional world. I tend to be really picky about art direction, but GoT has not let me down yet, every costume/set is absolutely pitch perfect for me.
She's pretty for sure, but not at all my type. You might be able to say that she has some slight andro, but looks more just like a lesbian than anything

http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/N...y3MdSU3ccl.jpg
Holding firm on 7/10
More on the chick who plays Osha, she does actually look really good, but also in that lesbian sense. She looks like the kind who would get cast to play a lesbian, and the type that lesbian and bi chicks thing is gorgeous
here's a flattering pic that really makes her look not-male:
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__.../9/90/Bran.png
ya, that last pic is kinda changing my opinion. At least when she was younger she was really cute... but who's the ugly dude carrying her?
:D exactly
at first i was like: you out yo damn mind
but then i was like: oh it's a bran joke
What plotlines/characters have died without explanation? Tyrion's dagger, Alliser Thorne and the Wight hand, Benjen Stark, Ser Barristan Selmy, The Greatjon....
What you mean died? Half of those are explained, like the nights watch sending out a platoon to determine Benjen's fate
If Selmy was never mentioned again, I wouldn't see that as a plothole in the least bit. His forced retirement worked as a device to show how tactless Cersei is. And it was a good way to write one of the "old guard" characters off the show without him losing his head.
Alliser Thorne definitely seems to be a plothole, as we have seen characters travel pretty remarkable distances since he left the wall.
Benjen can't be a plothole while the expedition north of the wall arc is still going.
Tyrion's dagger... ya, I don't know...
You neglected to include Troy(2004) in your list. I would like to know why.
It was okay. Pitt was good in it, but I didn't much care for it.
wait, what level are you on?
http://img1.imagehousing.com/100/cdd...036e4c854d.jpg
Oh I get it, you thought both the movie and Pitt's role sucked. Which is fine
Troy was one of the worst movies of all time.
Better than Face Off?
I liked Troy better than King Arthur.
Troy is better than Alexander in any case
Plus you guys forgot to mention my favorite character of all time, Rusty Ryan. OF ALL TIME.
Danny Ocean: [to Rusty] Ten oughta do it, don't you think? [Rusty says nothing] You think we need one more? [Rusty still says nothing] You think we need one more. [Yet again, Rusty says nothing] Okay, we'll get one more.
And that boxer in Snatch. The dude's legit
Franky Four fingers was a really great roll for him. Though i was more of a fan for his role in Fearless
I liked Troy. Hecktor versus Achilles was pretty sweet.
And Ocean's 11 is one of the easiest watches of all time.
So we're all in agreement? Brad Pitt = BOSS.
Anyways, I'm with baudib. The TV series has me saying, 'Where the fuck was this?' a LOT this season. Still amazing though.
hey look it's dranger watching GoT
http://i.imgur.com/3CM6U.png
I like Brad Pitt as an actor quite a bit. I really appreciate the fact that he seemed to work really hard at improving when he could have easily just mailed it in and banged a lot of hot chicks while making dumb movies.
Troy is hardly great, but it's pretty watchable compared to a lot of other stuff in sword & sandals genre. For instance, it's about 100 times better than Beowulf.
I even liked Interview With a Vampire, when he obviously hated his character.
@wuf: sums up season 2 perfectly from my perspective lol.
wtf i just got banned from 2p2 for posting spoilers even though a book reader said i didnt post any spoilers
wufwugy: the dranger of 2p2
lol link! i wanna read what you said!
Oh, i guess they woulda deleted the post :3
Im disappointed in the acting and budget for this episode. Those scenes with Dany were really hard to watch, and the tarred bodies looked too much like props. Like, if i were to make a prop, thats what itd end up looking like.
pretty sure they spent most of their budget trying to make jaime as handsome as d0zer
Ser Jaime Lannister the Kingslayer. Call him what he is.
Spoiler:I wanna fuck Cersei from behind
Spoiler:Dany, too
Dany moreso than Cersei imo.
The issue i had, was just that they looked like gingerbread men. The arms and legs of both were completely symmetrical and had no bends in them at all. It just looked really really off for a human body, and looked much more like a 3d stick figure drawing.
I'm gonna throw this out there... the Lannisters are going to turn on Joffrey. Tyrion already called him a lost cause, and the scene with Cersei.. she comes out of denial and admits that he is a complete abomination.
oh, and, wtf did cat ask for the sword for? No way did Jaime get an off screen death. Right?
I'm seriously upset that his name is Mance Rayder. That shit is so goddamn stupid. It's only slightly better than Mace Windu, which is pretty much WOAT name. I would love to be on Team Mansraeder, but can't be on Team Mance Rayder
My aesthetic nittery would make Stannis proud
Does Tywin suspect who Arya is? He would have to, wouldn't he? How many daughters of noble-born houses are slumming around with the Night's Watch, posing as boys, carrying swords?
Everyone seems to have difficulty viewing things from Tywin's perspective. There are a ton of noble born girls, as exampled by Jaime's latest victims, and the abundance of cousins and whatnot that Tywin has on his war council. On top of that, he never knew she was traveling from KL with the Night's Watch, as they were mixed in with all the locals, he never knew about needle, and he has no clue that Arya isn't safely being held hostage in KL. He is clearly very observant, but there is just no reason for him to guess that she is a Stark with the info he has.
that strikes me as a pretty big spoiler
I'd prefer to bookreaders didn't tell us that specific things are or are not in the book. I'm not sure how what has been said is a big deal, but I just really don't like where this leads. There is a thread where you can openly compare and contrast the book and the series. This is not that thread.
What do you mean by "divergence" and by "pretty huge"?
Like has Arya not even been Tywin's servant and none of this stuff happened, or is the timing different and it's taking you four books to explain what's going on in two seasons, or what?
Are some of the plotlines altogether different, or is it simply just some mildly different ways in telling the stories?
I would really like it if this discussion stopped right here and the last few posts were deleted.
But, I'm a spoiler nit and had something pretty major spoiled for me by a book-reading purist.
K
There goes dozer being all modest again.
modesty just gets in the way of the truth
Hard to be humble when you are the best
So, back on topic, am I the only idiot who thought the two charred corpses were that of Bran and the other Stark kid? I explained my rationale to one of my friends who also watched the show, and he proceeded to call me a dumbass. Watching it again I'm pretty sure I'm wrong though.
Wouldn't make sense from a plot perspective obviously, which was why I was all the more shocked at the end of the episode. Thing I find weird is, if it's just two random kids (presumably the children of the grey-haired dude at the farm that helped the Stark party escape) then why does the Maester get all overly dramatic, shouting "NnnnnnnoOOoooo!" and shit? Drama queen.
Arya's snapback when Tywin presses for information was pretty on the money. Tywin knows that she is educated and quick and may be high born, but her story is rather robust and believable so I assume he does believe it.
I'm most looking forward to more Tywin + Arya scenes.
agreed, the arya tywin scenes are fantastic.
There's no way it's them. It had to be a couple of the orphan boys that were running around, and Theon is trying to pull tricks or something.
It can't be Bran and Rickon because it does nothing to satisfy the arcs they (mainly Bran) have been given. Why burned bodies? Why even kill them? Where's Osha and Hodor (Hodor)?
If that's Bran and Rickon I consider that some of the worst writing I've ever seen
I thought it was them for like 20 seconds, and I was very sad. But then I was like, lol, can't be them, plot arcs, etc.
Are we at least in agreement that the maester is a drama queen.
man, people have such difficulty separating their semi-omniscient view from a characters perspective. Yes we know it is Arya, but that doesn't mean that it is obvious to Tywin. Yes we are reasonably sure that it isn't the Stark boys, but that doesn't mean that it is obvious to Luwin. He is a fictional character who is not aware that their arcs have not been completed and that from a story telling perspective they pretty much can't die yet.
cliffs: he think's those are the Stark boys, he is genuinely hysterical.
some thoughts:
Theon may not have known the fate of the two orphans until we saw their fate. He had a rather shocked look on his face. The only way I can figure this is if he gave the boys to his men and said "bind them and make sure the people can't tell they aren't the Stark boys when we put them on display." Theon was thinking "tie them up and put hoods over their heads, maybe take their shirts off to show the lashes we've given them." But his men are far crueler then he could imagine and they executed his vague directive in a most dark way. Edit: I mean to say, that he would have displayed the hooded and gagged orphans alive.
What the hell is going on in Qarth? What makes Dany and her dragons the key to Xaro's claim? Why couldn't he just gather the 13 and have Dracula's magical doppelgangers slit 11 throats last Tuesday?
Why is Tuesday a more comedic suggested day of the week for some random event than say Saturday, or even Thursday?
I think Cat may have castrated Jaime. He mocks her late husband by saying he is more honorable than him because he has at least been faithful to his sister. What an ironic punishment for such disrespect, he will live out the rest of his days having only fucked his sister. This may be a long shot, but we did have Theon mention eunuchs in the episode.
Plus he is embracing the monster he's becoming, which he also fears, or something
Zohan Zorro Dicksucks is a lame character. There's no need for him. If Doppleganger can kill 11 dudes, he can kill 12 then take the key to the vault. There's probably something about Zorro Dicksucks that we don't know yetQuote:

Personally, I think this is fantastic plotting, and turns one of the boringest stories into something really cool. Dany gonna have to do the impossible to get her dragons back, perhaps she won't even get them, and perhaps she'll end up totally fucked in a Viserys sort of way i.e. her centrality and power is taken from her by an even more central and powerful character/plot. I doubt that will happen, but I wouldn't mind it. Masked Lady has got to be a legit sorceress (Melisandre's holy twin OMG), and she gonna help Jorah and Dany big time
I can't see that. Would be out of character for a Stark to maim their most valued prisonerQuote:

It certainly seems out of Stark character, but why did she ask for Brienne's sword? Is she going to give him a shave since he's gotten all scruffy? Is next episode just going to start with her being like "ha, jk, here's your sword back, whatever I intended to do was totally out of character for a Stark. Sorry for going off script there writers, let's just pretend the whole "Brienne, your sword!" thing never happened."?
Some non-plot-related thoughts:
-- I want to point out again that Ser Jaime Lannister the Kingslayer is an awesome character, and the episodes he's in are vastly better than the ones he's absent from.
In a way he's very much his father's son. Pure Lannister. The trappings of nobility but the ultimate ruthless warrior. Only Jaime Lannister can sneer while bound in a pen full of his own shit.
-- This may be the best-cast show in TV history. Ygritte the horny wildling is a sexbomb snow bunny just begging to be pleasured in every orifice. She somehow just exudes sex buried beneath mounds of clothing. "You know nothing, Jon Snow!"
lol boost, I hope lady stark cut off jamie's junk.
yes, we get it, you know what happens, because you read the books. Would you like a cookie?
I do appreciate you not outright spoiling stuff, but couldn't you at least try to not be like a five year old, "I know something that you don't know, nah na na na nah na!"
I'm not prepared to say it just isn't meh writing. Just like how the show set it up going "wwooooooooo lookit these burnt boys they could be bran n rickon omgomg" in a tv-like cheese way, cat and the sword could just be the same thing
Besides, if Cat did maim him, it goes against the character that the writers established for her, and they are bad and should feel bad. She is level-headed and does what's best for her children, full stop.
Seriously, her even asking for the sword is bad writing. When she learned the Theon took over Winterfell and her two kids and kill Roderick, she still wanted to talk to him. Her asking for the sword was just TV being TV, looking for a climax wherever possible.
ya, I'm cool with this view of it. They do seem to have become more willing to utilize cheap TV tricks this season. I'm really not sure why though, as this show just doesn't need that stuff.
Hope you don't mind the paraphrasing. Really though man, what compels you to post what you posted in this thread instead of the other? We honestly and truly do not want you to guide our experience. We don't want to know when your favorite part is coming up. We just want to watch the show, and discuss the show.
Not to encourage you to keep posting in this thread, but if you had waited until after the cliff hanger was resolved and said "man, it was cool following the thread as that arc went on, because I really enjoyed it in the book", I'd be much more OK with it. Still this is a delicate matter, and you have shown a completely lack of finesse-- so, yeah, maybe just post in the other thread?
Like I said, I can understand that you can't see how it's a big deal, just like the person in a movie theater can't see that it's a big deal that he's chatting with his friend throughout the movie. He's keeping a low voice, what's the big deal?
Again, I don't think that you've really spoiled anything recently, but you're on the fringe for sure. If I go to a play with a friend who has read the play, I don't want him nudging me saying "oh oh oh, just wait for this next scene, it's going to blow your mind!" Furthermore, while I don't think you managed to do this recently, I think that depending on how you word it and how careful you are you really can unintentionally spoil things in a post expressing your excitement for an arc of which you know the outcome. I wish I had more faith in your capacity to thoroughly self-edit, but I just don't.
And all that isn't even mentioning false positives. If you post something that can be construed as a plot give away that hints at something that doesn't actually happen, all through the plot development while I expect the "spoiler" to come true my experience is tainted. This sounds extreme, but it actually happened to me with this show. Before it aired I read an article, which was probably written after the author viewed the first few eps in a media screening, where it was more or less said that magic plays a very small roll, that it was more or less a fictional medieval world, not a fantasy world.
I can see why you think I'm trolling at this point.. and maybe I'm being a bit extreme simply because you had such an abject disregard for the potential impact one of your careless posts could have. That being said, I do appreciate that you have been a lot more careful posting in this thread, and genuinely seem to be trying to not be a dick. Thank you for that.
edit: p.s. I read pretty much every post over on TWoP, because I have far too much time on my hands and I really really like this show. I very often want to post over there, but I don't because A) that would take up even more time and B) I have spoiler knowledge according to their very strict definition of spoilers. Meaning, I've watched the extras on the DVD, and I watch the "previously on..." recaps at the beginning of the episodes. Not saying that you shouldn't post in here because I don't post in there, just saying that I've been on the other side.
on a lighter note...
on TWoP they call Xaro Xhoan Daxos "Xaro Xhoan Ducksauce"
on 2p2OOTV they call him "Xaro Xhoan Dicksucks" haha, both are relatively funny, but if you are told that one community is predominantly males and one females, it's pretty easy to guess which.
Can anyone who reads the fn books just fuck right off out of this thread?
no disrespect but srsly enough is enough
...and we have yet another page where I want to delete half the posts :x
Well, the thing is, if someone has only read some of the books, they risk getting spoiled just as bad as us when posting in a book thread. That being said, I see baudib and dranger as "most recent post" next to the book thread at times, so this shouldn't be a concern of theirs. So ya, I mean, I'm ok with bookreaders being in here if nothing goes wrong... but that just doesn't seem to be how things will work out.
If you are a book reader and you insist on posting in this thread, you should really not get defensive when people crawl down your throat all the time. That's the price you pay, and you should be extra sensitive to how non book readers feel about your posts in this thread. It's a simple courtesy. You have a way of ruining the show for us, it really shouldn't amaze you that we are hyper aware of this fact.
Penney is right. If you read the books, stay out of this thread.
Even if wufwugy is begging you with 10 gigs of rare high class porn to clarify only the most inconsequential detail from the books, you shut your literate ass up.
40 gigs of softcore, big tit, pretty face, stripteases with good directing. Used to be like 400 gigs, but had to delete the suboptimal, of course
Finding quality streams is very hard, especially of stuff that isn't really popular. I generally dont like hardcore, and softcore is not that popular. So I have to seek out and save the stuff I do like if I ever want to see it again
I started downloading when I realized that I could only find a tiny fraction (like 3%) of my favorite model's work in decent or high res via streaming
Case in point: Zuzana Drabinova has the best body in the history of pornography, but you can't find anything good of hers in any streaming videos
I've been really liberal with the modding thus far. Despite penneywise's general douchecunttery about asking people to stop posting I'ma just delete anything from book readers I deem inappropriate.
Why can I still post? Because I know how to be respectful of not spoiling as I lived with 3 people who would have slit my throat if I even came close to spoiling.
This is actually exactly what happened to me as I've read 2 1/2 books and got majorly spoiled in the books thread. I actually managed to survive despite this cuz I don't give a fuck about the books at all and will probably never read the rest of them.
The responses to wuf were in spoiler tags and everything else I've been posting in this thread has been strictly related to the TV show. I'd respect the sentiment a lot more if wuf/boost said GTFO but it's kind of galling when "GTFO" has been Penney's only contribution to this discussion.
Since Wuf is back in the 2+2 TV thread I'll probably just read that and stop visiting so you can all breathe easier now.
hey boost are you reading just the speculation thread on twop, or others like the episode threads? ive heard the episode threads have lots of spoilers in them, and i checked one out and the second post was somebody comparing what happened in show to what happened in book, so i left
To put things simply, I think there will be lots of stalemates, and nobody will truly wield the Iron Throne the way the Targs or even Robert did. The Martels will probably help the Lannisters, but even if they don't, they will not be ruled by anybody. The Tyrells will probably help Lannisters as well. Baratheons will probably not take the castle, but also won't be defeated, and will maintain a lot of land. The Starks will take back Winterfell, and won't be overrun again
But eventually Dany and her dragons will show up, then the Wolf, Lion, and Stag will join together to fight them off. Look to the opening credits, the sword around the meteor shows as much happening. I'm not sure how to reconcile this with all the north of the wall happenings. The Walkers and Wildlings certainly have to be a big deal, and part of me expects some seriously evil magic from further north than even wildlings go. If this doesn't happen, the the Walkers are a lost point. Also I wouldn't be surprised if even more of the world is opened up. They already did this by adding Qarth, and they have just mentioned "sailing past Old Valyria"
Man, Stannis is such a fucking badass. When I'm old, not only do I hope I look like that, but also act like that
It's a shame Varys hasn't been around, since he's one of the best characters. I wonder if the show made him look more important than he ever was in the books
Have to say, I really want Joffrey to rape Sansa. And I want him to be cruel about it, like he can't get it up unless he beats her.
The storyline of Joffrey being the world's biggest cunt, and Sansa being all but destroyed by him, but ultimately getting revenge, is too good to pass up
You know, I think you could peer deeply into the psyche of women by reading the TWoP thread. Things like how they all hate Talisa (otherwise known as Dr. Noble Medicine Woman or Nurse Bonesaw). My guess is that because they're chicks, they fully understand that chicks care for nothing more than manipulation. So when they see their beloved, handsome King Robb being ensnared by this unknown woman, it's really just because she must be a sinister harpy
lol fuck I hate that talisa plot arc. Like she's hot as fuck but we don't need some silly chick romance-drama BS distracting us from the awesomeness of the starks.
