Yes 17 years BUT we made it to the Cup final and gave them a run for it!
The Turkey;)
It'll be at least another year before you win a cup
The Bigred:dance:
San Jose vs Tampa IMO
San Jose vs canucks will go 7, but i reckon tampa will wipe up boston 4-1
I'm predicting SJ > VAN 4-2
Boston > Tampa 4-2 (possibly 3)
The Bigred:dance:
Bring it on Sharks!
Van > SJ 4-2
Bos > TB 4-2
I'm disappointed that game didn't go to triple OT or something.
Implying that only the Bruins fans are truly prepared for disappointment?
This series is gonna be so good
omg i know, thank god no more predators!!!
emotion right off the bat even before the puck dropped, this is more like it!!
so yeah I am starting to dislike vancouver on the basis of their fans screaming LLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU on even the most routine saves
really annoying imo
chant goalie's name when he's playing out of his mind, not making peewee stops
I still like the green men though.
I guess I like one goal games. A 3-1 or 4-1 game is boring unless the losing team is know for comebacks. You could tell the Sharks were sitting on a lead and knew the nucks would eventually comeback.
I guess you like 4-3, 5-4 games better but I like defensive games where one goal can be huge.
Crazy game between Boston and Tampa. Should have been more like 6-3 but Thomas was not good at all.
the green men have some competition!!
wheeeeeeeeee
LETS GO! ANYONE BUT THE CANUCKS! literally anyone will do.
try as I might, I just can't root for Vancouver. Sorry Courtie / JL etc. I'll only be able to root for em if they end up playing Boston in the final. Then, all will be forgiven.
It's all good. I was rooting against Montreal last year when they made it this far.
I would cheer for Montreal but root against Toronto.
I hate all these early game starts. I guess I can forgive 6 pm, but 12 pm on Sunday??? That's SCOOP Main Event day. FML
I hate San Jose and their fans SO much. Like stop with the hits from behind already. Apparently they need to take out all our defensemen and spend a third of the game on the power play to have a fucking hope.

Canucks in five!
What. A. Bounce.
i pretty much can't believe this is real.
Kesler's pretty badass. Anyone think that was a cramp and not a real injury? His recovery was a little too miraculous even with whatever insane drugs they're able to pump into them to keep them going.
Cortisone shots are a magical thing.
Also respect for thorton, playing the most minutes of any san jose forward with a separated shoulder, thats impressive.
I definitely have huge respect for Thornton.
Game 7 tomorrow! I'm looking forward to it.
Pffft, that's nothing compared to having your eye shot out!
Insane recovery if he makes it back in time for the finals though:
Updated: Malhotra cleared for practice with contact
Boston Tampa game 7 was very good. That's the definition of how a 1-0 game can be epic...not a single penalty all game.
Close enough!Quote:

Go Bruins!
I have $250 riding on this series. Going with the Canadian team.
Boston in 1. Those Canuckians will refuse to play another game after they taste Bruin hockey. Go America!
Besides, everyone knows that Canadians only stole hockey from the Massachuset tribe of the early Americas. The Canucks play today is an insult to the rightful ancestors of the sport. It's time the championship returned to its proper home.
Fuck yeah Bruins...and America!
So if the Bruins lose will that make america the inferior country?
It's just hockey...
And still none of us are the Great Galactic Mexican Alliance. That doesn't change the fact that Boston wins this series.
Vancouver in 4.
not a chance kids
That's 1 out of 4...
Also, it's ride your bike to work week here in BC or maybe even Canada. Everyone at work went to the bar across the street right after work for the game. While riding my bike home drunk from the bar i couldn't help but think wow, at this exact moment the only thing separating me from uncle Elwin at this point is having two kids with a toothless meth head.
god dammit
whatever, 1-0 in the last 18 seconds loss in vancouver doesn't translate too well for your team in the long run
guys just remember the habs were up 2-0 and came within a hair of a comeback in game 3 before losing the series in game 7 overtime.
don't get too penisey
LOL habs
We're talking about the President's trophy winning, GOAT Vancouver Canucks here
;)
I said don't get penisey :p
Boston has the nux right where they want them
downtown was crazy today!!
So now I would prefer a split in Boston and then win at home in game 5. gogogo!
Was a sick game to watch last night. It's hard to still cheer for the Bruins in the face of such a hyperfenzy up North, but I'm not a fan of America's teams because it is easy but because it is hard!
Boston would have come out smelling like roses with a split; down 2-0 with two late-game losses and all that ire that builds in a team that needs to square things up at home tells me 0% chance this ends in 5 or fewer.
Canucks are quickly becoming my most hated team in the NHL. Burrows most hated player.
So pissed off at our defense/goalie going brain dead to start OT. What a shitty way to lose the game.
Maybe it's just me but neither of these teams look Cup Worthy. So many turnovers (esp Chara), missed weak passes, bad passes, D-men can't keep the puck in the zone. I think Chara is very overrated anyway. They keep talking about how it's a great loss that Hamius is injured. Really? Hamius? Nashville couldn't wait to get rid of this guy.
About halfway through the season I decided I hated the slap shot, esp the one timer. They are rarely on net. The snap shot seems to be the more high % shot. I constantly keep wondering how both of these teams got in the finals to begin with. Chara in front is a good idea during the power play as long as he can redirect pucks or get the hell out of the way. Looks like he can't do either. He shields Luongo pretty good but also covers the net up and blocks shots that Luongo can't see.
I don't see how Burrows is still playing. Seriously? biting fingers.
Not real impressed with either team. Maybe they'll both kick it up a notch for Game 3. I can't really decide who I want to win. I don't like either team for different reasons.
This post is pretty terrible.
I agree that both teams do not look very good so far in the SCF, but is that all you are basing your opinion on? The Canucks have been crushing all year long. They have dominated the play in every single game all playoffs long except for games 4 and 5 against Chicago and the first half of game 2 vs Nashville. They would have swept Nashville if not for the the stellar play of Pekka Rinne (best goalie in the league right now, imo).
LOL at knocking on Hamhuis because he wasn't that good last year. This year in the playoffs, he has been our best defensive-defenseman. He is probably the most underrated player on the nux in the playoffs so far.
The Canucks make every team they play against look bad. Did you watch the WCF? We made the Sharks look like crap, and they were probably the second best team in the league.
I don't know enough about Boston to comment, but they have a lot of depth for forwards and they have Timmay fucking Thomas. He should win the Vezina this year. He had the lowest GAA and Save percentage, even though he plays on a team that has shit defense (other than Chara).
lol @ "I constantly keep wondering how both of these teams got in the finals to begin with" ... I mean seriously?
1) the ability to roll 4 lines almost all game
2) depth on D
3) great goaltending (including backup)
4) scoring and contribution from all 4 lines
5) great special teams
etc...
Have you watched Hamhius play at all this year? If you say no, then your statement about him is retarded. If you say yes, it still is retarded.
Makes me super happy that we have so much depth on the back end, though. Even without Hamhuis (who has been excellent in the playoffs), we are still more than fine.
IMO Chara shouldn't be in front of the net, he should be taking shots from the point.
What has impressed me the most about the Canucks is their ability to come out on top no matter what style of game the opposing team plays. I'm so stoked that we FINALLY have a team that is capable of winning championships.
SO FUCKING EXCITED!!!!!
I did mean so far. Both teams are playing very sloppy.
Canucks would have swept Nashville if it weren't for Pekka, Suter and Weber. The Sedins were a non issue because of Suter and Weber. Nashville didn't have enough talent on D to contain Kesler and the Sedins. If Nashville had kept Hamius the the same would hold true. At Nashville Hamius was consistant in 2 areas. Excellent hip checks and losing the puck in his own zone.
Both of these teams are where they are because of goaltending for the most part. Thomas will win the Vezina and will be the losing goalie but he deserves it.
I did mean so far. Both teams are sloppy so far.
I wonder why players start playing better once they are traded. Lack of job security? All ex-Predators seem to really play better once they leave. Timonen, Hartnell, Hamius, Arnott, Peverly, and others really picked up their game once they left Nashville. There are exceptions of course (Mason, Ellis) but for the most part I think this is true. I haven't followed Hamius this year except when playing vs the Predators but in those games I hadn't changed my opinion since last season.
Canucks will win the cup and probably sweep Boston but the quality of play so far seems sub par.
