JKDS responded to me asking why he wasn't concerned about me towning him so quick, but totally ignored what I said about his first post. That was a bad habit of mine last game, to be selective of what I replied to. It's not like my accusation was a vague waving of my finger, I'm directly saying that there is wolf motivation, and he has nothing to say about that? He prefers to focus on something that is easier to react to. Like me last game.

mojo just feels particularly awkward and I suspect he probably is the cursed villager. He tried to slip a hint to the wolves but overdid it and is now passing it off as a gambit. Not buying it.

I feel like you're talking a lot about generic werewolf strategy as opposed to anything game related. That said, I feel a bit better about you since your most recent posts, although it's a tendency for most people to think of people as wolfy when they aren't around.

As far as the above post, I mean it's pretty basic WW101, which can lead you to a lot of embarrassing losses against tricky wolves.

Villagers can be wolfy, wolves can do villagery things. I think that the context of the game is important though; I was in a game recently where 3 villagers made wolf claims, and almost no one batted an eye.

The problem MMM has here is that our culture is totally different, our playstyle is very conservative and D1 FPS by villagery basically doesn't happen. For example, look how much shit Dhuber has gotten over claiming "vanilla." Can you imagine if he claimed wolf?

He does it every game. Thus, it's non alignment idicative. He's not gonna enter a game going "yeah fistpump I'm finally the seer", or "arroooo bitches here we go". If he only claimed vanilla when he's actually vanilla, well then I'll fucking lynch him every time he does it because it's a safe d1 lynch and means it doesn't help the wolves special hunt. So long as he does it always, then it doesn't matter, and attacking him for it is rolefishy as hell. Villagers shouldn't want him to elaborate on why he says it. Villagers shouldn't want to figure out his motive. Villagers should find other shit to talk about.

and MMM, I think you're probably gonna flip Vanillager quite a bit here but the real dilemma is that your play has pretty much put Cursed squarely in your range.

Ideally we could just let the wolves deal with the issue of Cursed, I think, and the village can just concentrate on lynching all wolfy players, Cursed or wolves. You have kinda forced our hand here though.

I have a different schedule than everybody else. I'm gone each weekday for a long stretch while everybody else is on. I also post less and less with each new game. I've also been creating rules for myself in an attempt to make my play better. Those rules include things like not posting about who I think are villagers and instead just posting who I think are wolves. Naturally this cuts down on a ton of text

Basically, I've been trying to "JV" my game. The JVP got the name the JVP for a reason, and one thing he consistently did was not post a whole lot and when he did post it would be about who he thinks should die

this means that you're only doing like 1/4th the job of a villager.

how is it you have time to talk about theoretical WW strat but not who you think are villagers? Do you not think that a clear, easily followed progression on your reads is helpful to the village, not only in finding villagers and wolves but also to clear yourself?

Oh I have the time to talk about who I think are villagers, at least right now. I just don't think that's good WW strategy, or at least it's bad for me

Remember the first game we played together (excluding the late sub one), where the wolves were Gabe, Keith, and Scourrge? I died with my bold on Gabe. I was very keyed into him being a wolf, but the only thing anybody remembered was all of my other more complicated reads, that I made out of boredom while I was waiting for people to back me on Gabe, and those reads were wrong. Furthermore, it looked like I was sucking, because taking my reads at the time of my death, the wolves would have won. I don't think the game works like that since reads are always subject to change based on new information, but others don't agree and the village got labelled as one of the worst villages in a long time. Partly because of me

My play was strong until I got complex with it. Since then I decided I'm just going to go after the main person I think should die. If I had done that and lived to the last day, we would have won that game


Posting vil reads is a legit strategy though. I'm not saying I'm right, just that I think I'm right for me. It has gotten me in a lot of trouble in the past

I don't mean to sound condescending here, Mr. Wuf, but it's the "figure out" part that makes this game, yah?

When I throw around a bunch of shit about who is villy and who is not and blah blah blah, I always get sooooo much wrong, and in doing so create pages and pages of unreadable worthlessness. But every time I've kept it straight and true, focused on just finding the best lynch, I've been far more accurate

The fact that we're even talking about this suggests that we spend a lot of time talking about things that don't improve the probability of lynching wolves. Granted, it kinda has to be like that because we don't always know what we should be focusing on

I'm good with an MMM lynch or bigred

Nearly 3 pages and still no significant reads other than the obvious MMM initial posts. I still feel the same about my leans. wuf is coming off as extremely sincere in some posts, and I'm not sure how I should read that. My personal alignment list remains.

So 16 players, 4 know they're anti-Village and 12 know they're pro-Village. Chances MMM flips anti-Village are well over 25% in my opinion, even given the hard-to-read posts. There's enough from his posts on Page #1 alone to make him the most solid Day #1 lynch so far, not to mention the fact that Wolves are not likely to night-feast on him until late game if Cursed Villager is still around as Keith suggests.

I'm thinking chances MMM flips anti-Village is nearly 50% here, and I'm also thinking (playing the BID game here) that if he's lynched and flips anti-Village that it clears none of us. But it does make for one less anti-Village player.

I especially like Keith's analysis in Post #151 and wuf's analysis on MMM's statements about Hoopy wanting the match to be over quickly. This is much more compelling than the case in which there was an "arrooooo, i mean quack" post in the anon game.

I get that MMM started awfully and his open is quite unconventional. Having seen and having been responsible for probably more FPS in the past month than FTR ever gets, I'm pretty sure he's gonna be slightly greater than rand to be villager. His Cursed equity is pretty significant though, and that's possibly our greatest late-game threat.

His response to the pressure has been pretty damn villagery IMO.

I think it is convenient that Wuf has decreed he won't really be participating or engaging with anyone, that he'll just talk fluff/generic WW 101 strategy and then pop in to tell us who we should kill. That doesn't sound wolfy at all right.

I invite you all to reread Daven, it won't take long. His thoughtful analysis and sharp-minded attacks are exactly what we expect from the aggressive wolfhunter Daven...oh wait, no they're not at all. He comes in, throws a vote on Dhuber, who was easily the most villagery person at the start of the game, with no explanation. Then says he's thinking of rescinding and getting onto Ong...again no explanation. Immediately after that, he says nothing has stood out so far, even though he saw fit to arguably lynch 2 people. Then decides it's Monstr/Wuf out of the blue, declares that MMM is so likely to be Cursed he has to die, and then votes Wuf.

the monstr/wuf decision wasn't out of the blue, it's based on feel during readthroughs.
I am happy to lynch any of monstr/wuf/mmm, i'd prefer wuf cos i think he's a normal wolf. Based on limited data obviously...

Ong has been quite trolly and aloof this game and it reminds me of how he was sullen all through last game (as a wolf), in that it could just be a persona that he's using to mask his true intentions. It's like he's playing the IDGAF line a little too hard at times.

I don't get Aubrey's comments about me in her first post.

She initially says I just posted a question and then jumped on the mmm bw. That's not quite true. I initially said he seemed villagery and only changed my stance after reading daven's comment. Given the description of me lately as low hanging fruit and the fact she only chimed in when her whereabouts were questioned she seems a little wolfy to me. That could just be an omg she called me wolfy she must be a wolf instinctive reaction though.

And it's more that there were other things going on and she must have read quite a bit of the thread to have got to the point where I'd changed my stance on mmm yet that was the first thing she chose to comment on.

Other thoughts:
wuf seems villagery and I really don't like ongs reaction to mmm questioning him about my stance on mmm in that he chose to agree with me rather than taking the opportunity to put pressure on me which he could very easily have done.

Baud is the new SDM. Mojo is like a temporary SDM, once he stopped derping he pulled up on the stick quite a bit really. I can't see him making that lone wolf joke post if he was full wolf either. Besides, derpy funtimes MMM sounds way cooler than old man rah rah stop posting fluff this is srs MMM so if he is vanillager it's not a change that I'd want to discourage

I disagree with Post #243 and agree with post #244.

It's true that MMM has been more Villagery following Page #1, but are you arguing he's not the best Day #1 lynch candidate? I don't see anyone else that's near as compelling at this time. Ong, wuf, gabe and daven are suspcious to me, but none stick out the way MMM does for the reasons I've already outlined. Like you say... too many Wolves.

Personally I find MMM's style confusing, which makes me uncomfortable about my reads on him, but there's more than enough evidence to lay a lynch down even considering he was third on my could-be Wolf list last match after Ong/Keybored.

wuf has the most sincere posts besides mine... I just don't know if that's a Wolf tactic or not. If any 2 out of you, Keybored, Keith, or Luco have someone else you specifically who you think fits better than MMM for Day #1 lynch then let me know and I'll work with either of you at this time assuming it's someone on my own "suspicious" list. Keith's arguments for MMM lynch make the most sense to me. I may be playing "Level 0" but I don't believe that's such a bad thing if my analysis is correct... that if we put all players' Levels on a scale of 0-10 they'd be well spread out. "Level 0" is only a highly-flawed style if a lot of players are at "Level 1" in my opinion. Much higher level thinking is not effective against much lower level thinking from what I've seen.

Okay I just saw the Vote Recap in Post #262. You and Keybored are both on daven. As you've stated there's nothing of sustenance in daven's posts. Keith, what are your thoughts on me switching from MMM to daven lynch? If Keith isn't big-time against it, I'll switch.

Rong, your comment about how you thought MMM was villager but you were going to lynch him anyway got my attention as well, but I think on balance you're more likely to say that as a villager than wolf. With regards to the aubrey beetlejuice, I'm leaning the other way to you - I think a wolf would be less likely to hop in within 10 minutes of their name being mentioned if they were aware of the beetlejuice trope. Also she isn't afraid to post as a wolf.

tough guy comment - i missed hoopy's post saying that tough guy doesn't know that they are the tough guy. Read it with MMM knowing they are the tough guy and it makes sense in the light of MMM saying he was trying to reaction test. Since MMM doesn't know that he is the tough guy , that bit is wrong .

mojo asked me what I think of rong's comment that he thought mojo was villager who had to die, and within a minute or two I responded saying that I agreed with him. Mojo hasn't posted since. Has he given up because he knows his lynch is inevitable? That's much more likely to be wolf than village. I'd expect villager mojo to shrug his shoulders and acknowledge that he probably deserves a d1 lynch this game blah blah. But he didn't say anything like that, instead he's gone quiet while the votes clock uo.

Given the slim chance Angel (Priest) gets a successful protect early-game, Keith's scenarios make sense, Luco. Am I missing something here? There are others feeling slightly off (ong, aubrey, key, jkds) but a lot of people just aren't clearing themselves. I usually find more villagers than wolves d1 but this game I'm not getting much of either.

Dhuber, here's the thing. There are 4 players we want to kill; when someone becomes an early wagon D1 and there's not so much as a hint of counterwagon, the discussion dies and he gets majed, congratulations, you just lynched a villager.

Threadflow practically demands that he dies and I'm not going to white knight him and I understand that but the path of least resistance really leads to a good result.

Wuf sounds sincere you say, and I agree that his tone is pretty pure. But out of 17 posts, he has maybe 6 that are actually related to things people say in the thread:

-- 1 about the "yet another" vanilla comment
-- a couple about MMM possibly outing himself as Cursed
-- 1 where he talks about his meta with Daven, says he thinks he's a baddie but will stay on MMM
-- he agrees with my description of himself
-- he agrees with some things Monstr has said about me and that i've gotten a lot of experience playing elsewhere. This isn't exactly secret

His other posts are about a) game mechanics
b) laying slank cover ("I don't have the same schedule as everyone else." wtf does this mean, we have people playing on different continents)
c) how he's changing his play ("more like JV")
d) simplistic comments on optimal villager play ("villagers should lynch the wolfiest players each day")

If baudib is a wolf he's really pulled his shit together.

Heh, I was just going to do an MQ of people talking about being willing to lynch Daven but not actually doing it. That's generally a bad sign.

- I think Keith sounds like Keith. I don't really think Keith would intentionally derp to look villagery, I was mostly just busting his balls.
- Rong is not super active but his posts read villagery for himself.
- Keybored started off sounding EXACTLY the same as he did as a wolf but has gotten quite a bit better.
Ong set off some alarm bells early but he could be a villager, I guess. I have this history where people I can generally clear easily start to ping me a bit. It nags at me but I don't push them -- these players flip wolf a lot IME so I'm keeping a close eye on him.
- BigRed and Aubrey both jumping in strong is a really good sign as I've said. Typically when wolves are slanking and are late to the thread you get a variation on "Hey guize, sorry I'm late but my dog ate my homework and life is crazy right now, I'll read up and give my thoughts," then they disappear.

FWIW, I've decided this speculation about the cursed is not productive, and I think the village would probably be well served to consider this a 4-W game. Reason: focusing on lynching the cursed is prioritizing a potential wolf over an actual wolf. Pretending that the village has more chance of finding the cursed than the wolves seems optimistic.

I searched for any hint of breadcrumbs in the first 2 pages and found none. That doesn't mean they aren't there, but I didn't see any of the more common crumbing. E.g. If a monkey can use razors, shave every day. (I AM CURSED.) Don't even pretend that's a claim from me, it's just an example of hidden messages, which have been used in this forum before.

My posts were obviously over-the-top out of character for only the first few posts of the game, after which time I've shown my hand. Ong has been and still is out of character.

Wuf sounds genuine. Absolutely. However, key sounded genuine last game, and he was a wolf. It's not about being authentic to yourself; it's about what is the motivation behind the posts. Wuf's posts serve the purpose to give the village reasons to not scrutinize him.

rong, monstrman, keith, aubrey need to post more game-content. Post all the fun stuff, too, but not at the detriment of progressing the game.

Aubrey's first post reeks (reeks, reeks, rhymes with freaks). It's as if the game starting was a foregone conclusion. But I don't know what that means. I don't know if she knew her role and just decided to sit back, or if she really didn't see the thread until she started posting and just dove right in. Her post about Rong but then MMM bold is standard wolfaubrey though.

So at this point, I like three deaths: MMM, Daven, Aubrey. In that order

We have a history of players thinking I'm sitting back because when everybody else is on, I'm usually off. When I got on the thread yesterday, I saw people saying how they don't like how I wasn't responding to stuff, but the truth is that I simply hadn't logged in again. We have covered this in past games, but it seems to keep getting air.

Maybe I shouldn't even address it anymore. I'm sure a reason why it gets air is that I always try to correct it
