Losing massively at 2NL now and it's starting to really piss me off. I am just over $21 down overall which is pathetic. The reason it's frustrating me is because I am such a good live player, I don't understand why I am not winning at fucking 2NL. /Rant over.

More info on utg. Mebbe just fold to 4bet.

Bad run of cards perhaps? Unless i have a note on villain that his stacking off range pre is tighter than usual at 2nl i stack off with AK everytime for 100bb stacks.

Fair enough it's been a while since I've played 2nl, but from my experience I'd put AQ AJs JJ TT 99 in villain's range, and a healthy dose of spew, unless I have reason to think otherwise.

If you're sitting at a 6m table I'd get it in, if this is just a short full ring table then I fold.

this of course would be true , the more people playing the better odds to fold unless you do have an original good hand , playing live vs on-line is diffenent in many cases , losing $21. is alot unless your rich , i know i'm not rich , lol .

At 2NL I'd imagine there's nothing wrong with 3 betting for value here without a plan vs a 3x 4-bet, especially since one of them is usually a huge fish calling with loads of shit. I'd be fine about calling a jam, but this sizing looks very much like QQ+ AK type of shit at best so I think a 3 bet/fold line is fine here. You'll get 4 bet to this size so infrequently at 2NL 6 max that it doesn't need to factor into our 3 bet strategy and we can just fold, deeming it a little bit -EV to felt (though probably not much)

Wait there's extra dead monies and we're 5 handed - prolly makes it totally fine to ship.

I'm far from being one to defend Bikes because we've had several disagreements in the past, but If you're going to get butthurt because some young guy on the internet wrote something which offended you then you may just want to disconnect... His rough answers will prolly help some thicken their hides to deal with the crap that poker throws at them.

What he wrote about $$$ not worth shit is GOLDEN advice. Yes, we play poker to win $$$, but if you're so focused on the $$$$ then you're not making correct decisions or giving your opponents the opportunity to make incorrect ones. You're basically playing with scared money, and that's not good.

This $21 that you're down is over what size sample?

I also agree with him that if you're a good live player then over a decent sample size you won't be losing at 2nl.

Cobra, there are some things you need to understand about this site.

1) The best posters are the ones who are or have made a decent amount of money playing poker. Some are pros so when they give you advice they are actually teaching you how to be their competition. How to take money off their own tables. Respect that or gtfo.

2) This is not a spoon feeding site. If someone say "the fold button is on the left" don't ask them why they think you should fold. Go figure out why.

Something that would get you huge respect around was if you went and tried to figure out why for yourself, and then came back and asked, "you said to fold here, I did some research. is XXX why you think I should fold?"

Seriously dude. If you don't have pokerstove then download it and run some ranges in it at least before you say "why do you think I should fold?"

4) You will get fucked with for saying you're a good live player. Most likely you are not. Give some sort of sample size and hourly to back that up. But as said before, if you're not beating 2nl you are not beating live games.

@Shotglass I am down $21 over just over 3,300 hands.

@Supa How do I figure that out? I was posting to see how I should have played it. I don't know why I should have folded, which is why I asked. I also have PokerStove.

When I said I was a good live player I was just comparing my results over past 6 months online vs live. Online I am obviously losing a lot of money, on the other hand, live I have played in 12 tournaments with an average of 75-100 entrants ( not many I know ) and have final tabled 10 of them, winning 2 of them, and finishing top 3 in another 3. I don't think they're bad results.

3300 hands is a small sample size but $21 @ 2nl is HUGE. Even though it's a tiny sample, maybe you should post your stats and some of the better players might be able to help you find some of your leaks.

EDIT: live tournaments and online cash games are NOT the same animal and you shouldn't be comparing the two.

*Hint* If you have stove put some ranges in it and try to figure out why this might be a fold (is a fold). If your ranges lead you to believe this is a call then your ranges are terribly wrong. At which point you can post them here to learn why. If you take the extra step you will probably get better results when you ask the question.

On that note, you have to try to realize that some of these people have been here for years and heard the same questions over and over again. A way of weeding out those who are here to work on their game and possibly stick around a while is to force you to decide if you really want to do this. Sometimes that comes from being vague and letting you do the work yourself.

Most of the posters here aren't getting any benefit from helping you. They don't get paid for this shit. They've seen "you" come and go and need you to prove that you're not another fly by night.

Fwiw, this forum was a lot busier when I first joined and you've got it a lot easier than many of us had in the beginning. Thicken up that skin and you'll be alright, we all had to do it.

plenty off fish at this level. suggest going up a limit or 2, players at this level shove any hand to win in there mind big pot even money chance. if they got any pair their odds get better. if your short off cash suggest see a lot more flops before raiseing.
