villain is a really bad nitty kinda player, plays too many tables, and is b/e-slightly losing.

that beeing said i wouldnt be suprised if it was -ev to get it in.. if its a cooler its ~0ev because he wouldnt be able to fold in the reverse situation but you know that.. however i def think there is value in folding coolers vs regs

Sitting to the left of a nit and two shortstackers while having all the fullstackers to your left doesn't seem optimal, but I tend to put a lot of effort to find really terrible fullstackers to have on my right since I can take full advantage of their mistakes. I generally like the shorties on my left as well and I just min open as my standard.

Not at all. Being OOP is an issue postflop and playing shorties is mostly preflop play.

Don't have static opening sizes (it should change depending on your position, effective stack sizes, if there are fish, etc... not just if someone limped) and static opening ranges (see above) and you should be able to crush shorties. The 'good' ones obvi use a hud but if your 'actual' opening range against them + the specific opponents around them is off from the numbers they see, they will make big errors.

note: i put 'actual' in ' ' because it should be constantly in flux in case i wasn't clear.

as for the hand: I don't really know how 50bb games play, but I would guess that folding a set with 50bb effective is generally a bad play. Also, your raise size sets up weird stacks if he flatted. Roughly 75 left with a 50 pot. I'd probably raise smaller because a nit continues with only one draw combo (KQss).

didnt even notice it was 50bb :/ cant fault anyone for getting it in really

If I was ever to fold bottom set vs 50bb on the flop heads up when flushes and straights are not yet possible, this would still, not be it.

Seems like a spot where folding is correct in theory, much harder to do at the time though.

Any merit to just calling the flop?

im raising for value because I don't think he fill fold AK/AQ at all to me, I might even get him to call down AJ.

but I did not expect any of those hands to 3bet flop..in other words I had no plan for getting 3bet on flop :|

I see what you are saying, but playing against "very good" short stackers, half stackers, or full stackers on our left is going to be extremely hard. Is it better to have "very good" full stack regs on our left? Maybe so, but its a silly question to try and answer because you would never choose to sit in a seat because a very good player has position on it.

yeah basically having anyone good to your left sucks, or anyone bad that never folds.

What really has me head-scratchin is that this is a 50bb table.

I would only ever fold here if my computer crashed.

A world of worse combo draws and more combos of AT than AA and TT.
