Btw I stick with my vote since I'm going out and likely won't be able to browse FTR again before the day ends. Oskar can still show up but dwarfman's last visit to FTR was even before I signed up to the game so he isn't aware the game started and we have no way to know his allegiance. It's also a matter of principle that I remember from older games.

And Benny said that we are under too much time pressure to do this but I don't agree with that. We need to bink at least one wolf in our next four lynches, which is similar to games with more players which will have more wolves. The games are designed to always be proportionally balanced. Lynching active villages D1 that we can go back to later and check their post history makes no tactical sense in my opinion.

If we lynch two villagers in a row, and the wolves get a clean kill both nights, we can afford no more mistakes. Jack knows this, he's perfectly capable of crunching the numbers.

This is why today we do need to kill one of the two inactives. If both of them remain tomorrow, it's a problem.

It has to be said, I really think Jack is a wolf. Normally I'd be pumping for his lynch, but this is the first game in forever. Even if he's a wolf, I want him to stick around for a day or two. And I'm also aware of my own failings. I've had plenty of d1 reads in the past that I've been hugely confident in, and been shown to be wrong. I'm not as good a villager as I am a wolf. If we lynch Jack today and he's a villager, that's a disaster. So we should definitely not be lynching him today.

But he's easily the wolfiest amongst us. He's pretty much completely ignored me, saying only I'm too active to be a wolf, which is ridiculous coming from someone who's played with me a lot. I can definitely see a wolf Jack trying to avoid a d1 shit slinging contest with me, while if he's a villager I'd expect him to feel obliged to defend himself a little more.

Thunderdoming is engaging in 1v1 fights, specifically where voting anyone else is actively discouraged by the participants - "it's him or me guys"

It is, but there's also the modkill possibility. Dwarfman probably isn't coming back - hasn't been on since Aug 8. Oskar might. He's been on the board but it is hard to notice PMs. So, this might be a tactic for him but we might get some info out of him shortly or he'll be modkilled. MMM might rid us of the problem of both of them (I've asked) within a couple of nights. It's unlikely we get any good info on either of them today.

But if we lynch an active, we will get lots of points of cross-referencing and info. I like a Jack lynch.

Nah. More people means more days to collect information to cross reference and use, more direct questions and accusations that people respond to. More screw ups. The ratio of scum to village might be the same but the game isn't.

Poker analogy - this is a turbo. You don't have a lot of hands to fool around with and you'll be pushing AI before long.

MOD NOTE:

I will post my intention concerning the absent players before EOD.

I will try to do so in a timely manner, but I have to get to work and try to solve this while there.

If I don't come up with a solution fast enough, I may extend D1 to ensure everyone has had a chance to catch up with the changing game and change their votes if they desire.

I'm not currently committing to mod-killing these players, but that is the most likely outcome. Unless they post today, it's more harm to leave non-posting players in the game than to mod-kill them and try to bandaid the rules.

If that happens, I will need to rebalance the game. Going from 9 players at the start of D1 to 5 players at the start of D2 is not what the game format is designed for.

poop is a noob at ww but he's an active commune poster so he could be more relaxed than your average first timer wolf. That said, I do lean towards him being a villager. He's certainly not a d1 lynch.

If oskar gets replaced, my vote will be removed immediately. Until then, I'm quite happy for him to hang. We rarely learn anything from a d1 lynch unless it's a wolf. I made a last-minute request for subs on the MU site, and it's super lucky and I owe many thanks that Spacecamp has volunteered on such short notice.
While finding another sub is ideal, I do not think that should be considered the likely outcome in the next 4 hours.
