i am uninterested in starting d1 with more than 0 information, if for no other reason than it shortens the game. also we should have the goal of avoiding as many technical powers as we can and focus on as many skill powers as we can. what this means is something like dont structure the seer so he can win while sucking but where he wins only if he deserves it. something like a n0 seer just promotes suckage

it does not. maybe you should try a game to get the flavor for it Wuf.

it leads to many varied and complex strategies and my guess is, for the most part, it gives the seer a better chance of having 1 or 2 live peeks but almost ensures the seer gets killed before getting more than that (and being game-crushing) unless LOLwolves. but this relies mostly on how well the vanilla villagers play.

even if it were the least bit imbalancing there are easy enough solutions for it (variable seer, every other night seer etc.)

or we can just policy lynch me or BR on D1 and close the thread in 45 mins after talking about game mechanics and past games and move to D2 where you're essentially in the same position where you would have been.

duder i was a n0 seer and binked a wolf once. it wasn't nearly as good if that had to wait until n1

i remember thinking 'lol that's dumb, but i'll take it". also i think the wolf quit playing after that. he said it was pretty disheartening to get a wolf pm then get screwed by a seer outing on d1. ya gotta make players think that they have a hand in something, and maybe if they had done something different/better, they wouldn't have gotten screwed

there's an easy modification to fix this problem and i already said it's preferred u doofus

incidentally, i've seen seers find wolves n0 twice, and i don't think seer should out on d1

i've also seen seers bink subbed in players after D1, and that didn't work out for the village either

anti-spew is a real thing (last game was a good example)

Sure. You're right, of course. Welcome to the forum, do what ya like.

Generally we don't invite spam. We even have a few mods here that love nothing more than to ban spammers.

This means that when it comes to WW games, there are some kinks in the system as pertains to new players.

There are FTR rules about max. posts per day when you're new here, and also rules about including links in posts and other stuff that's easy to take for granted. If you get your post count up before the game starts, then you wont notice any restrictions when they might hinder you.

Of course, we'll do our best to keep you free to post, but it will take someone with more permissions than a common, lowly FTR Moderator to do this, so it may take a bit of time to get them in the loop.

Also, I don't think you can send/receive PM's until your post count is up to a certain amount. You will need a private way to be notified of your role in the game.

Unless it's changed recently, you can not receive PM's as a new member (not even PM's from mods).

When I was hosting the Chinese poker tourney's, there was a constant issue with me having to involve jyms to send the PM's with table passwords to new members .
