    I've pm'd a few regulars.

What might work is having a turbo game played over one evening, as the problem seems to be that everyone is short of time.

I am one of those who is too busy right now. I will spectate a game, but I can't even offer up a co-mod with how limited my time is right now. I'll try out the turbo if I can. I have been missing our WW banter lately, but I can't commit to a game.

I don't see how my schedule will be changing in a favorable way for WW any time soon. Since it's my first year on the job, it's my first time doing the setup for almost every demo. Maybe next school year wont be as hectic once I've done all the demos once before.

Summer games for me is my best guess right now.

Just do like I do and post when you get home. The pace of the games here make that possible.

How about we run a basic turbo? 1 hour per day, 15mins or w/e for night. Say 2 wolves, 5 villagers.

9 players is minimum for a fun and fair game, IMO.

Wolves need at least 2 to be a team.

Village needs to never be on LYLO on D2.

I will not play a game smaller than 9 players. I will be IN for a weekend game if there are at least 9 players.
  27. #27
Yeah I think we can find balanced 8p games with 2 wolves, last game was balanced if a little dull. But I'm with mojo, I can't be arsed if it's an obviously unbalanced game or just one wolf.

8 players is still LYLO on D2 if a V is lynched on D1
    - unless PR(s) prevent the death of a villager prior to start of D3
    - or there is some other mechanism to prevent 4 villager deaths in 2 days, given 2 ML

I'd want to see what the game design was. I guess it's conceivable that I would play in an 8-player game, but I wouldn't be so ready to jump in and trust the game format to be balanced as I would with 9-players, 2 W and no PRs.
  29. #29
That one we played last time might be unique in that it's balanced at 8p, of course it's essentially a 1 vs 3 game with no night kills, so it's easy to see why it's a coin flip. But yeah, even that was lylo d2, so it's only an interesting game if it gets to d3.

I think I agree with you, we need a d3 or it's not worth the bother.

Any day between now and April 9 I can play a turbo. I can play a standard game anytime, forever

Werewolf is so fun. I'm craving a proper game. Almost to the point of finding somewhere else to play

I've got a few ideas and I agree that LYLO on d2 is lame in most circumstances.

Idea 1: 7 players (6V, 1W), 1 lynch per day, 1 kill at night. Max length of 3 days, we could run this in one evening. Say 1.5 hours per day (night would be super short) we could get through quite a few games quickly.

Idea 2: 7 players (5V, 2W), lynch only no NK.

Idea 3: 9 players (7V, 2W), as above with NK.

We're very limited with lack of players, which is why I think turbo's might work better atm until we get more interest. If we wait for a bigger game I think that people will drift off and this place will die.
  34. #34
I'm happy to mod turbo's btw.
  35. #35
The problem with turbos is that it's going to be difficult to get everyone together at the same time. I'm good for the majority of the time, but it's hard to commit for a specific time because if I get a call asking to do something interesting, am I really going to stay in and play a nerdy game out of obligation to my poker forum pals? Probably not. I'd hate to be the one who isn't around when he said he would be.

idk, we're probably better off with a turbo just starting one when it's clear there's enough online at a given time.

Hopefully the game will only take about 4-5 hours to run, getting everyone online at the same time spontaneously seems unlikely.

Sure, but let's say I agree to play next monday at 7pm UK time, then an hour in my friend phones me and asks if I'm up to anything. If it's a standard game, I can go out, no problem, because there's plenty of time. I don't even care if it's deadline, life is more important. But when the entire game is 5 hours, it's rude to leave an hour in. So to avoid that happening, best to not play turbos.

If I can't commit to a 5 hr slot, I don't have a great deal of confidence in others being able to.

Hows it different from playing an online poker tournament?

Dont say "money", because entertainment = value too.

He cares enough about you lot not to flake but not enough that a game of werewolf > offers to do things in rl.

I imagine he would leave mid poker tournament.

I imagine the tournaments he plays are at unsocial hours irl.

The chance of ong leaving in the middle of a poker tournament to do some social activity is <1%.
  41. #41
I have left poker games plenty of times in order to go out, I've also told my friends I'm busy to continue playing poker. It depends on the buyin, and my stack. Money is basically the only significant factor that plays a role in my decision in that regard.

    Shows what drew knows, eh?

Pretty much. I'll often start a game at 8pm knowing that I'm doing nothing. The only game I generally find myself having to make a decision about continuing is the sunday storm. Once I start that, I tend to play until I'm done, but I have abandoned it or shoved until bust on occasions.

But right now drew, you're trying to defibrillate a rump steak.

    Lol but I like steak

I was doing some cleaning (deleting bookmarks) the other day and thought I'd give WW one last chance. If there's a game in the distant future, you'll need to PM (I will be notified via e-mail) me because FTR will be in my rearview mirror. It's sad because this has been my #1 poker forum from the beginning.

If you could get 13+ people I'm super duper in. We talked about having one last game to end all games and I'm still down for that. I don't think we'll ever get close to that number though.

I see wuf and aubrey lurking from time to time. I reckon they might be interested in playing if it actually looked like it could happen. I doubt anyone would be interested in regular games again, but perhaps a one-off.
