Default Congratz to the villagers of Werewolf: To The Edge

    I am massively hungover.

Thanks for modding rilla! It was a lot of fun. I really liked the descriptions you wrote up between days.

    Who was the vig?

I take consolation in that no one ever put me up for lynching despite the fact that I dominated the conversation from the time I entered. And no one believed I was the wolf until I was forced to concede. Tough spot, but fun. Glad the game ended so quickly as I was spending too many hours trying to figure out how to pull this out. It'll be less stressful when I start from the beginning and have a full team.

I'm still going with Big Red as vig.

Pretty sure Keith would have killed off Hoopy or SDM and convinced Hoopy was vanilla villager.

Bugrud was my very first wolf/special pick. I could tell he was more excited for the game than usual at the very beginning. But then he died down and I figured I was just seeing things

Baud, fwiw if I had to do it again, I would keep the same lookup list. It's the most reasonable one for me and exactly what I did the last time I was seer. The rest of my claim was such a mess that I didn't want to continue, and Daven didn't play in the game where I was last seer so without me pointing out why, it was easy to think that my lookups would be trying to go for epicness. Most of the players here have seen my seer strategy, which is the same as why I said I looked up Bigred, Eric, and SDM

Fake outs almost never work. I wasn't expecting this to work, and I didn't even bother setting it up. I knew that if people went back over my posts, they would not believe me

Also when I named you as a lookup, it was because I thought Daven was the wolf. If Daven was the wolf and SDM died, I think he would have won, partly because villagers naturally think one of the fakeseer lookups is a wolf. Eric had the best cover ever in that nobody (including myself) thought his Gabe and JV noms could have come from him, so I was trying to give Daven some ammo against him/you

Maybe this is a story about why those sorts of reads are dumb. I mean, everything about Eric looked like a wolf, except for that one little thing. And everything about Daven looked like a villager, but he was the only other option...

nice game, setup was good, fake claim was awesome and cinched it for the village
    cheers rilla!

Wuf your effort was remarkable I think. I assumed you took so long to fake because you were trying to figure out who the wolf was and you got the vibe from me in my aggro stance toward you, and put me on the list to protect me. But if you died it would obviously point to me.

I still think SDM giving the wolves 21% was far too high. Simply because his lookup list at time of outing was just devastating. Everyone just assumed the wolves were killing off the seer lookups. If you didn't know it was me there was nothing you could do.

I pretty much had to hit perfect-perfect-perfect, and then after SDM's outing and his list I figure I was drawing deader than dead. your fake out almost got SDM lynched and maybe I had 5%. But the math never worked as far as I could tell...it's why I got off the SDM wagon.

Pretty sure I would never play so hyper aggro again. This was a special case. I had to provide great cover while trying to formulate a winning plan. I've set up an insane behavior baseline to work off.

Thanks. I had a tight plan for pushing the seer to out so much, but it depended on me knowing who the last wolf was, and I didn't, so I gave up and just wanted it to end. I thought for sure the seer had looked me up and probably one of his lookups was dead (if he had 3 lookups I assume he would have outed very first thing on Day 4)

Yeah I'm going to change my villager style a lot now. In this game, I found several things that I normally do as a villager that I simply couldn't as a not-villager

Yeah, I was vig. I almost shot dhuber but just didn't feel confident enough to pull the trigger. Then he died anyway.

i was partly hoping for an endgame involving me, a wolf, and the turncoat who still hadn't found a wolf. Cos that shit would have got crazy. Everyone would be claiming to be the turncoat! and levels would get confusing

Daven, were you trying to give off fake TC or seer clues?

    nope. I was hunting wolves.

I considered that and technically should have been able to self-lynch for the wolf win.

The role is really weird, and I don't think should be used again without fixing some of its problems. If I got turncoat again, I'd just ask the mod to either make me full wolf and take away my block power, or make me full village and give the wolves the block power. Part of why I gave up with the "God I suck" post was because I realized there was virtually nothing I could do to help my team. It was so whack that even trying to actively mislead the village could have inadvertently gotten me nom'd

I feel very bad for Gator having died day 1

Tried to copy-paste something and the formatting got destroyed.

In the dead thread people are discussing anonymous werewolf. I would be up for trying that.
  24. #24
That would be fun. Some of the players would be easy to spot. Others would probably be confused with others. If Bigred didn't post any cat pics, I bet people would confuse him with a bunch of other players for the first couple days at least

Seriously, it's a great idea. We could use quicktopic for that. I'm down with modding it. We should do more frequent games and perhaps sticky them in the poker forums. I remember during the game Eric mentioned how fun this is and we should do it more often. Well, we don't do it more often because nobody knows what it is except for half of the hardcores who have used the commune for years

i was was ok with it. My recent results as a wolf will naturally lead to a couple of day 1 lynches. At least I got to help the village before getting killed.

    thanks for modding Rilla.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

I know some poker players who would be interested in playing if a new game started up in the near future. Prob at least 2-4 people

Nice game, good modding rilla. Game was a bit imbalanced but fun nonetheless. With such strong special powers 3 wolves would have been needed to give them a chance.

And I messed up my night actions, I was actually planning to protect gabe n1 but he posted so little that I thought the wolves might leave him alone so I protected myself. That was dumb.
  28. #28
I don't think the game was that imbalanced as it was set up. It looked imbalanced, just like the last one, but in my opinion that's because the seer managed to live long enough to cause serious damage to the wolves. Look at games where the seer died early - I challenge you to find a single one where the wolves didn't win when that happened.

Even though I got 3 living villager confirms, the wolves still had a 21% chance to win if baudib fake outted and I was lynched. That's despite me doing the next best thing to finding the two wolves. If I had died by getting lynched or been eaten by the wolves before then, the wolves would have been the heavy favorite, like 70% or more.

I think we need more role types, and there be no critical role for the village that is so important for their victory. Maybe a villager that is immune to wolf attacks, and can only die by lynching. Imagine what the wolves would have to do against that role: they would have to get that villager hung, but being on that player's bandwagon after the fact makes you a prime wolf suspect. Another possible role is a vengeful villager, that after he gets lynched, he must fire into the crowd. If you spread the power around, the game is more fun for everyone, and it won't be decided by amazing seers or vigs.

I'm suprised that Eric/baudib was a wolf, did not see that coming.

    Good modding rilla.

I really enjoyed it and had fun with all the interactions despite getting lynched rather quickly. Looking forward to our next game!
