    My FIRST MTT win !!!!!

    $15 buy-in at Pacific tonight - 500 people - $2,500

What a week - first Liverpool win the European cup, then I bag my first MTT. Must be something in the air

Got a huge chip lead early on (80-100 BB) and kept it right to the final table. Was great playing as the bigstack throughout, with everyone on my table imploring the dealer to move them or me off that table.

Thanks to everyone at FTR especially the regulars - you know who you are - couldn't have done it without all the help from this site.

Congrats. Popping that MTT cherry was a beautiful moment for me as well. But I'm finding it difficult to get that second one under my belt.

Just won my first live MTT my first time in Vegas.

Field of ninety some at the Luxor, 25+3.

Payout was just shy of 800. First live MTT win, 5th MTT win now overall.
  4. #229
I made my first final table in a 10+1 freezeout at Stars! Got 9th for $207 in a field of 1385. I would've been able to get much further if my QQ held up against AK. Oh well. I know this is nothing special, but it was a major accomplishment for me, since this was my first ever MTT! I've never really had time to play them, so I focused more on SnG's and read lots of posts and Davsimon, Rada, and Rippys stickys. Without those stickys I wouldn't have come nowhere close to what I did. Just want to say thanks, and hopefully I can close one out in the near future!

Holy s*** balls I'm jealous. Great win. Please post HH.

p.s. $100 and only 88 entrants (=$8800) - so Empire is losing $$ on this deal huh? Sounds a little odd.

My bad - I hadn't looked first. Time to start looking at Empire's tourneys. I really liked the blind structure and how slow the increases were - every 20 minutes!! Goldmine for good players.
  21. #246
Yeah, that's one good reason to play Empire tournies. I play the $25+2 a couple times a week. During the week there are usually about 180 players for the $5000 guaranteed, about 20 players short. No complaints here! The $100+10 was short to cover their guaranteed purse last Saturday too... I can't remember the details offhand though. This is probably why they are moving a lot of their tournaments to R&As instead of freezeouts.

yea they make a hell of a lot off of the R+A mtts. they charge rake on the rebuys, so beware!
  23. #248
Yeah! My first final table, and I only ended up with one guy before me

    2nd of 271 10$+1 at Ladbrokes, a nice little 474$ win!

That will do wonders to my 260$ bankroll. I will definatley continue playing MTT's.

I have to thank all of FTR for this, and especially Aok for his great pacing guide (followed it very closely, made wonders) and Ripp for his thoughts on aggressiveness.

I had 300k in chips vs 100k heads up, but got only crap cards while he caught his, my bluffs didn't work and I slowly ran out of my chips.

Hey, 417$ and my first MTT final table (and ITM for that matter). Yeah!
  24. #249

lol, I remember when I used to love the freerolls. They are so much fun, no risk plus you actually get some practice as opposed to playchip tables. Nice finish too

    Woohoo!

I was able to overcome the horrible blind/chip structure (start with 60 chips, blinds at 1/2, 2/4, 3/6, etc. every 20 minutes) and the 16 other drunk people to come away a winner at a home tournament I went to last night for $200!

I see what Harrington said about having to catch a card at a tough spot in order to win a tourney. I was in the BB with QQ, someone raises from MP, I go AI. They immediately start counting their chips to call. I knew I was up against KK/AA. Flop was 929, spiked the Q on the turn!

Thanks everyone for your guidance and strategies, I feel my game is starting to become quite g00t.

I never have played any tournaments, I play ring games, mostly $3/$6. A friend ask me to play in a 22 man $100 buy with $100 rebuy/add on in a local game.

I get second for over $1000. Then win $160 more in the 10/20 cash game after.

    I won my first MTT. Only a $3.00 + $.30 Freeze out

    76 Entrants... 10 places paid.

    My take: $68.40

My first final table. My first win! Awesome. Crap Winnings but still very very awesome.

Definately with the help of RippTyde's Tourney advice. I had a large stack at the final table, so I ccould see lots of flops.

Winning hanc 3d4d when the flush hit the board on the turn. My opponent tried to rep it, but I took it down. AWEsome!

Tournament Played: $5 + $0.50 3 table MTT at PokerStars. No rebuys

    Winnings: $50 - buy = $44.50

    First tourney win online.

I've placed about 40% of the time though.

Once I even MacGyvered my way into 3rd in a limit toruney, and I have no clue as to how those should be played.
