    Default The weekend Donks

The weekend Donks are killing me. This should be the time when we are making the most profit. I have resorted to raising 5x BB with AA, KK, QQ, and AK. While one would think it is good to see a Donk paying 5x BB to see his p5's, his Q7o, or his dominated Ax, I am finding on the weekends that it's not.

The last 4 weeks I am up an average of 30BI during the week, and down an average of 10BI on the weekends. What gives. This is really frustrating me.

Yeah, I sound like a little kid who just had his candy taken from him right. I need to sit down and have a chat with Gabe. (first post tilt forum) He'll straighten me out.

So if I can get em to put all their chips in preflop or Postflop holding the above cards I don't want to do that? We are at least a 70% favorite to win those hands. Possibly I need to change my strategy?

I need to post some hands. Would like to export from PT3. Can't figure it out. Can someone send me in the right direction.

Baudib, I did figure out how to make my avatar show up after 2 months. At least you could have said "sorry I took your money when you raised 5x BB with AA, I figured my superior holding of Q7o was good. However, you kept showing chips out there and had me a bit worried until I caught that 3 on the River. I knew u didn't have my 7 high str8 beat and I Hung in there to catch my 7 high str8, but I like your dog. Lol

I used to hate playing on Sundays, because bad beats do tend to happen more often. Because we are felting more hands in general, I feel like there is a higher probability of variance on Sundays. At least that's my opinion. Also there are times when we are good most of the time against decent player e.g. holding QQ in a raised pot with a 337 flop, we get it in only to be shown 35o. It important to control tilt here and realise that the villain is pissing money away pre-flop.

Yeah, Nakamura I agree with the increase in variance on the weekend. I also think that as variance increased my patience decreased. I think I was on low level tilt completely unaware. The feeling was frustration. I then realized (after a beat down) that I am doing things I don't do when I am winning. I took a little break got my shit together and tightened up. I ended up ahead a buck and a half for last nights session. That's $1.50 not $150.00. But that's ok I think I am back on track.

Let's be clear. If your edge is 1%, you will have A LOT more variance than if your edge is 10%. Don't let the results fool you. Your brain was not programmed with poker in mind. You should not want to touch things that burned you the first time you touch them. But you should want to run JJ vs AT, regardless of what happened the first time/last time.

If the point of this thread is that it's harder to beat bad loose players compared to bad tight players, I'd submit you are not adjusting correctly.
