TPGK w/ Overbet OTF
Turbo NLH 9-max - $1.5 + $0.1 -- 0/10/20 NL Hold'em -- 7 Players
We're only about 10 hands in, and I've never played with the villain before. On top of that, he sat out the first two or three hands.
BB - 1,500
UTG - 1,490
UTG+1 (Hero) - 4,520
HJ - 1,340
CO - 1,390
BTN - 1,630
SB - 1,630
Pot is 30
Dealt to Hero - Q, A
UTG calls 20, Hero raises to 80, two folds, BTN calls 80, two folds, UTG calls 60
Pot is 270
*** FLOP *** A, 8, 5
UTG bets 520
Villain way overbets the pot. It really felt like he was trying to prevent a flush draw. I felt like I couldn't fold TPGK here, but I also couldn't put the villain on a hand that made sense with that bet. I figured a two pair would bet something smaller for value, not something designed to scare calling hands. I just knew he didn't have two diamonds, and that this could possibly be a bluff. So, I decide to call.
Hero calls 520, BTN folds
Pot is 1310
*** TURN *** K
UTG bets 340, Hero raises to 1,360, UTG is all in 550
I wasn't worried about the diamond since I wasn't worried about the flush. But, the smaller bet confused me and I thought I likely had the best hand. Could I have folded here, even with the pot as big as it was? Should I have folded OTF?
