    1. Welcome to the Tournament Poker forum!

In this thread, you'll find answers to commonly asked questions. This is the place to be if you want to improve your MTT game! If you are a new player feel free to post a thread about any questions you have! For more advanced players, we offer sweats and feedback from mid and high stakes grinders!

    2. Where can I learn how to use the forum features, such as posting a hand or an image?

Check out the Beginner's Circle Forum FAQ for information on how to post hands, get the best feedback possible in hand analysis threads, understand poker jargon, post images and more!

    3. What do 'M' and 'bb' mean?

These are two very common acronyms you will hear in the Tournament Poker forum to describe the size of someone's chip stack.

'BB', or 'big blinds', is the number of big blinds you have in your stack. It is simple to calculate and is commonly used, although it doesn't take into account antes! Unlike in the cash forum, there is no difference between 'bb' and 'BB'.

Example: You have 1,000 chips. The small blind is 50 and the big blind is 100 (this can be written as 50/100). You have 10bb. Alternatively, the small blind is 50, the big blind is 100 and the ante is 10 (50/100/10). You still have 10bb.

'M', or M-ratio, is the number of orbits your stack would last for before you busted if you played 0 hands.

Example: The blinds are 50/100/10. You have 1,000 chips. The cost per orbit at a 10 person table is 50+100+(10*10) = 250 chips must be paid per orbit. Therefore, your M = 4.
