    Default Time tournament on Pokerstars⏰

What would be your strategy to play this format. I played many times this tournament but was never able to cash(out today three times with AA,KK against 39o, A6o, T2s). Shorter the tournament player tends to be more donk and bad.

You should play it like a cash game, in normal style, because the prize money is rewarded by chip count.

In cash games you do not start with 20bb and average chips double of starting stack after end of two five minute level

I mean: more money = more chips, unlike in tournaments where you can reach even the 2nd place without ever having a big stack throughout the MTT (just surviving).

I'll often play $1 15 minute games, and I have a decent winrate in them. I begin with a semi-loose short stack strategy... I'm seeking a quick double up. I'll shove pre with 77+ AJs+ AQ+. Once I've doubled up, I'll play tighter against those who have me covered while I try to pick off shorter stacks. I'm not looking to build a ridiculous stack, I'm just happy to average more than double the BI when I win, and to cash more than half the time. That's not an unreasonable expectation at low stakes. There's a lot of people spewing with any ace any pair etc, so I have quite an edge over the average player in these games.

For the short playing time and the amount you can win, the rake is maybe too high.

But for people who have little time to play, it´s perfect.

It's a near certainty that these games are a rake trap. But, so long as I'm making money, it doesn't matter. I don't play higher stakes for this format simply because I don't feel like my edge would be enough to beat the rake.

I have also been wondering if it is really any idea playing these tournaments due to the rake and low ROI. I personally prefer hypers and turbos usually if I want to play lots of tournaments in short time and in Stars hyper MTTs also have nice 2% rake.

I don't think they are hard to cash in, but to cash big is hard. For me they are not worth my time, but I do see the sense in the way OngBonga attacks them. Maybe that's the way to do it

I once (2013) staked a player for a $1.10 time MTT (30 min) with 902 entrants, he won it - and he got 23 bucks and 15 cents

I don't play time tournaments because of what you really said and it's true: shorter the tournament worst are the players. They play any marginal hand, they want to get chips at any cost and usually the good hands and sometimes monster hands are looked like 72 or something compared with some opponents hands. That is not poker, that is fishing or bingo.
