Default Stepping back into the coaching pool

Instead of concentrating on putting in a ton of volume for the rest of this month, I have decided that I will step back into the coaching pool. I am looking to take on 2-3 students. If you don't know who I am - I am a professional MTT player and instructor on PokerPwnage.com with over a 133% ROI over my last 3000 tourneys.

    Here's what I am offering:

My coaching will begin on Mon. Oct. 19. From the 19th-21 and the 26th-31st (I have friends visiting from the 22-25th) I will focus on ghosting/shadowing your sessions and making suggestions on your play. I am estimating that this will be pretty time intensive and will be anywhere from 4-8 hrs/day, so this should end up being anywhere from 30-50 hours of very focused, basically one-on-one coaching. Once November rolls around I will start playing again and you will be able to ghost me and ask any questions that you may have about my play - if I have free screen space I will also pull any of your tables up and give you my input. I am also part of a pretty tight knit group of great poker minds and talk with them on a daily basis - I will bring you into this group which will allow you to ask not only me but other great players whatever questions regarding hands or poker theory that you may have.

    My requirements:

    You must have a HUD.
You must have a working microphone so that we can talk with each other over ventrilo.

    My cut:

You will pay me 33% of your net profits from when we start until the end of November. You will pay me 15% of your net profits for each of the following 3 months from December through the end of February. Payments are due on the 1st of each month - i.e. I expect payments on Dec. 1, Jan. 1, Feb. 1, and March 1 for this deal. If you don't profit, you don't pay me a dime. However, to make sure I do not get shafted by someone who I have never met and will possibly never meet, I am going to require a $250 deposit. Any profit you make will be deducted from this deposit and if you end up actually losing money over these next 5 months I will return your entire deposit to you.

    How to apply:

Send me an e-mail to [email protected] and tell me why I should pick you. Include your screennames on all of the sites you play. I will pick my students on or before Sunday Oct. 18th so make sure to apply before then.

Is having a HUD really that necessary? I, for one, usually play on smaller/sportsbook sites, many of which don't work with PT/HUDs. Softer competition, less multitabling rocks and tags = good times.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

I wish i had more time to play, I only get 3 or 4 hours day with my son home. I would switch to tourneys for this opportunity.

I only play on FullTilt, Stars, and UB because I depend on my HUD so much. If you can't tell me how often someone steals and what their preflop raise percentages are from each position, how often they fold to steals, how often they c-bet, how often they fold to c-bets, how often they 3-bet, etc. I will not be able to make you as profitable a player as possible. Since my pay is dependent on your profitability - yes a HUD is required.

Fair enough. I have a large bonus pending on Stars anyways, this might be a good way to go about clearing it

man, if you do this another month i would be super keen. I'm learning the basics of sngs and mtts right now, i'm finding mtt beats and coolers harder to deal with than cash games.

in malaysia right now, and a few of those days will be transit and arriving back in nz... damn, next time....

hope one of your students hits a 6 figure score in november!!!

Hey chard, great to hear you're going to be doing some coaching. Always nice to see FTR's elite giving back to us scrubs. I'd definitely be interested in this proposition if it were not for my focus on studies; I've got midterms over the period you specified and poker's taking a back seat for now priority-wise. I'm in my last year of university and need to pop up my GPA a bit so I can leave some options open for the future (i.e. postgrad).

I've railed a few of your tourns, notably during the latest FTOPS series, and had thought a bit about getting in touch with you for some advice, but I guess I figured that would have been a bit presumptuous.

Anyhow. I hope you do continue on with this coaching endeavor in the future as I'd really like to get in on it. The terms you set out seem pretty fair given the rather huge upside. I'd probably be able to go into this full bore in the coming spring / summer. Guess I'll check back with you around then in the off chance you're willing to take on more students.

In the mean time I hope you don't mind if I rail your tourns (on full tilt anyway) occasionally as I like to have a few tables open for observation when I'm only playing 2 or 3 MTTs at a time.

Good luck and continued success bud.

    Hi,
I've railed you a bit on some Fulltilt MTT's too (aka DeepchapChopra) and asked you awhile ago if you'd be doing this again as I see it as an excellent oppurtunity.
My time schedule atm is pretty hectic otherwise I'd be all over this.
I've also been real interested in hooking up with some decent poker minds to bounce things back & forth off of and haven't had much luck with getting this happening (did it a bit in the past but thinking level of group wasn't the greatest).
Damn... hoping you'll be around for this again some time in the future. I'll be watching on the sidelines in hopes of getting onto this.
My online experience has been mostly in private tournaments online & some micro MTT & SNG grinding but really would like to take it up to being a reg. in med. buyin MTTs on Pokerstars & Fulltilt. I've spent manyhours, weeks, months, going on years, studying the game in my spare time and honestly figure I'd be a great student. Work committments right now or for sure I'd be all over this (feck work.. who needs it, lol... I'm actually on disabilitybut work part-time as a property mgr., trouble is 'part-time' is pretty much full-time this month but soon should have my time freed up considerably).
Posting all this not just as a wannabee... but so that you'll be familiar with me if this oopurtunity ever comes up again in the near future. (also hoping to upgrade my set-up prior to getting more serious about playing (only using a laptop atm).

yeah, I sort of retardedly forgot that most people have school/jobs so this wasn't the best timing for students - it was just the best timing for me. I don't plan on quitting anytime soon, so I am sure there will be future opportunities.
