    Default QQ near the bubble

Villian is 30/20/2 over 50 hands. Not much history with him directly. We are 30 away from the monies.
What do you think? I will add my thoughts later as not to skew posts.

I might 3 bet a bit more so you can shove the flop easier if he cold calls but you are not ever folding pre flop here. I would have trouble folding against a 5% pfr with a lot of hands. folding vs an unknown or a 30/20 is bad.

No other way to play it and I like your 3-bet size. This had better not be a see a flop and make sure no A or K comes post.

Actually I think I am asking the wrong question here. What range does villian push here?

I can't possibly see folding this, especially given his stats...I know it's the bubble but to me the bubble in an MTT is not as crucial as the bubble in a SnG...Just getting to the money is not a big deal, you want to get to the money with a huge stack.

I realize he SHOULD respect your stack but his pushing range is probably 99+, AK and maybe AQ. How many $2 players are folding TT preflop?

Not a whole lot you can do really, ppl cannot fold in these tournies, so I'd say his shoving range is nearly his opening range.

This what I initially thought and I snapped called. I figured his range to be 88+ AJ+ However I know that I need to start thinking more about hand ranges and less about playing by feel. This transition has been somewhat difficult for me but I know it is something that I have to do if I ever plan on moving pass low and mid stakes tournaments.

guys he's just looking to complain about taking coolers/beats

he'll continue to be the type of poker player we all love, the one that isn't any good but thinks he is, and slowly donates to the regulars.

I don't believe I can fold either. But I hated the insta-call I made without taking into consideration his range. Which I need to do.

he's 4 betting all in from UTG which makes his range smaller you would think. but your read is that he might be happy to get it all in with 99 or AQ. have you seen him open UTG or EP before this hand?

Another thing is with 20M 3 bet folding QQ to any range is bad. If you cant stack off then the 3bet sucks. Since the 3bet is valid I don't see how I cant. Hand ranges really dont come into play on calling allin in tthis situation. Its the tournament strategy that forces the call. Sounds right?

Sounds right to me. At this point you don't 3 bet a hand unless you're ready to go to war with it. You've pretty much decided you're calling allin with your 3 bet (to my mind).

Villain is opening a huge range; 20%.
Even if we half that for utg we're still against 88+, AJo+, ATs+ KQs.
We're only crushed by KK, AA
We're on the Bubble, villain more likely to pull this move with a wider range
If we win this hand, we're going deep
    nice call.
Success is how high you bounce after hitting bottom.
