    Default MTT dry run

What is your most recent dry spell of not getting ITM?

I just started playing tournaments again, I used to play on Bodog then stopped and recently deposited back onto Bodog, now Bovada, and CakePoker.

So my MTT's are on the lower spectrum of entrants and currently on an 0-12 run on Cake.

Also I am a new member of FTR as of today so howdy to you all!

Well, bear in mind that we have a lot less traffic now that the US guys and girls are barred from playing on line.

That + posting in the middle of the night for us Euro guys => Not much response.

Also, it's a pretty negative post, and lots of people here don't accept negative thinking. Yup, when it comes to Poker we try not to think about past beats, losses, etc. They are not relevant to the next hand, that's a new decission, where we need to focus on the best possible play.

What sort of stakes and fields are you playing, and how long is it since you last played regularly?

I could go 0-for-12 in a few hours on a Sunday pre BF.

Sorry guys wasn't meant to be negative at all. I was just curious.

But back when I used to play ( 2 years ago ) I averaged itm 16% of the time or more formally 1 out of every 6 tournaments. Field average around 250 - 350 entrants.

Once again I apologize for the negativity. Just getting back into it I think I'm just doing a little wishful thinking hoping I would be doing the same or better.

How big is the US community on here nowadays?

you likely are doing the same or better.

ITM is not a very useful metric so I wouldn't worry about it anyway. The sample is too small too mean anything, but if you were cashing 1/6 all the time it would probably mean you play too tight.

worrying about anything - besides stuff about actual hands - over a 12 tourney sample indicates you don't have a good understanding of variance. start here:

beyond all that, just worry about playing good and inside your roll, the rest is not helpful.

Playing too tight? Isnt that a relatively good ITM percentage?

% was derived from a sample size of only 150 tournaments.

what % is getting paid in these fields? If it's ~10, yes, it's 'good' but if it continues for 5k more tourneys it probably means you are focusing too much on cashing and not enough on winning. You are not taking enough chances in general and especially around the bubble.

but really, stop worrying about ITM. ROI is a more useful number, but there really isn't any reason to worry about that either. The time you've spent thinking about it would be much better spent improving your game - read, post hands, watch videos, HH review, etc etc

    Alright mate thanks!

I had 0-12 runs and longers in SNGs, dont worry about it, you need to look over samples of meaningful numbers, and as already said, worry about ROI and not ITM
