I think you are up against to many players to bet there, when first to act. I actually looking forward to opinions on this aswell

    call is standard preflop.

I think there are good arguments for both a lead and a check/see what happens on the flop.

Arguments for lead are that you are likely best, and the only draw is the flush draw and taking the initiative is good here OOP. Drawback is that there are three others in the hand so it is definitely possible one of them has you beat with Jx, and you don't really want to do anything except fold to a raise.

Argument for check and see is that this is a hand with showdown value and you dont want to get raised off.

Maybe it would be better if you raised pre flop to 240, but when you only made a call, then like chardrian said it's more than sure somebody to have Jx, so it would be better to not raise the flop, only go check or make a call if somebody else make a raise (call if the raise is not more than 200).

to much thinking, due to the heavy buyin. how would u play the hand if the buyin low. small raise preflop. and in 1st position another small raise as theres only 1 overcard on the flop.

c/f, I see no value in leading flop and would much rather do so with almost anything (pair draws gutters etc) besides a pp below jx. everything that can call you plays better or the same on later streets, but has position.

Exactly what I did. I wondered if by not playing for so long I had gotten rusty. Glad to see that it wasn't the case

I think that you have to made re-raise pre flop to about 180 chips. Or if you made only a call, then you can made a raise to about 100 chips, and see how your opponents will react on your move, because maybe some of them have a Jack.

    Thanks for nothing!

Kindly stop posting useless posts. I have deleted the completely contentless ones although I left this one for some reason. This is your only warning.

Calling pre flop is a must albeit. However you are out of position with another 3 players behind you so unless you hit the flop it is check and fold to any bet. If there was only one other player in the hand I would bet the flop and see what happened but not with 3 other.

This is what I'd do, but yeah I agree that it's something I'd be unsure about when taking this line.

joker - the "heavy buyin" is only relevant to you. It's not heavy to jack, otherwise he wouldn't be playing these games. When thinking about how I play this spot, I just treat it like a game within my stakes vs competent villains.

I'd call this pre because post flop we're oop, potentially multi-handed, and hating a lot of flops. I'm not sure there's more value in raising than simply calling and hoping to bink a set or overpair.
