LAGgy Day

Today I decided to fiddle around in order to learn post-flop play better. I figured I wasn't getting enough experience post-flop by playing TAG, as I usually do. So, today, I went LAGgy. I limped in every pot out of position, and raised in position (plus I raised out of position with premium hands). I did it on 45-man SnGs for $1, so my experiment didn't cost me any money. I learned a lot of important lessons:

1) Only bluff once out of position.
2) Never call raises out of position.
3) When someone limps in early position, and then comes over top of you, that is not a bluff.
4) When someone check-raises you, this isn't a bluff either. Well, usually.
5) People fold to pot-sized bets. They don't fold to half-pot-sized bets. Well, usually.
6) If you have a great hand out of position, bet it once. Then check-push the turn. You will be called.
7) When you have an image as a maniac, and someone check-calls the flop, they're trapping you. Take the free cards. If you hit your hand by the river, you can break them.
8) Never bluff more than 2 people. Semi-bluff them.
9) TPNK is a very good hand against two people, especially against two people who assume you are bluffing.

I had a lot of fun, and I am learning a lot about post-flop play. I actually have no interest in becoming a maniac, but there are a lot of interesting lessons to be learned. The main thing that's so much fun is that everyone starts to assume you're always bluffing, and is looking for an opportunity to double-up off of you. The trick is to let them try when you're not bluffing .

Wow, you got all that in one day? That's a lot of strategy. I think you probably "knew" all that before but today solidified it for you.

#9 will get you broke, IMO.
