Default How to handle insane LAGs?

I have two questions about LAG idiots.

Background: I played a game where a player would go all in pre-flop in any position if no one else had entered the pot or if there were only limpers ahead of him. Not all the time, maybe 25% of the time.

It was only a matter of time, of course, but I only saw a showdown with A9s (he got lucky) and 66 (he lost to 99). I have a feeling he shoved with any pp or any A.

My strategy with these bozos is to let them donk themselves out unless I have AA or KK. I folded JJ when he did this one time. I don't think AK is strong enough. If the donkey is short stacked, my calling (isolating) requirements are lower, of course.

    Questions:
    1. Is my strategy appropriate or too conservative? I saw 99 call and bust him out when he had 66. Are QQ and JJ suitable for calling?

    2. WTF? Why would anyone do this? It was amazing how he stole so many blinds and was the chip leader for so long. I guess this one is a rhetorical question.

So you saw a showdown of A9s and 66 when he shoved and you didnt call with JJ...bad move my friend...insta call for me if your in late to semi MP...even in early im probably call a shove over by the maniac...So I would say your strategy for this particular situation was way to nitty...

If he is shoving that much, I am calling something like 88+, A10s+, AJo+.

    1. yes way too nitty.
    2. cos they likes to gamble!

You need to play back at him much wider, he is going to donate his money to someone, and you want it to be you if possible.

I'm surprised no one has asked yet:

    - What were the stack sizes like?
    - What was the blind level/blinds?

    I mean it's a huge difference if he's sitting there with 1k chips at 75/150 or with 1.5k at 10/20 ...

This was from the very start of the game. Everyone had 1500 chips and blinds were 15/30. He had the chip lead for quite a while.

with JJ given what we already know I don't think it makes any difference at all.
