Default Full Tilt Early Double...Did I blow up AGAIN!?!?

We are 4 handed at the ft of the early double and blinds are 12000/24000 with 3000 antes. I have just doubled up twice from 4th place to 2nd in chips right before these 2 hands. Both are against the chipleader who has been aggressive with his big stack but in a controlled manner:

Full Tilt (4 handed) Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
    Seat 2: Hero (660,192)
    Seat 4: FlyHigh07 (378,520)
    Seat 6: Eric Murphy (754,816)
    Seat 8: Delthi (230,482)
Preflop: Hero is SB with A, T. Hero posts a blind of 12000.
UTG raises 72,000, 1 fold, Hero (poster) raises to 216,000, 1 fold, UTG raises 823816 (All-In), Hero folds.

Full Tilt (4 handed) Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
    Seat 2: Hero (483,192)
    Seat 4: FlyHigh07 (381,520)
    Seat 6: Eric Murphy (961,816)
    Seat 8: Delthi (197,482)
The button is in seat #6
Preflop: Hero is BB with J, A. SB posts a blind of 12000.
1 fold, Button raises 72,000, 1 fold, Hero raises 480192 (All-In), Button calls.

Were these resteals unneccessary risks?? Could I have played these hands differently?

    1) It's a tough spot - maybe a smaller 3 bet if you're going to fold. Getting 2/1 or so it's super close coming back. If he's on top 5% it's break even, any looser and you have to call.

    2) standard

Hand 1 - you can't put 1/3 of your stack in and then fold. I make that 3 bet and call everytime 4 handed.

    Hand 2 - standard.

Good point ^^. I guess I should have reraised less like drmcboy said because I was prepared to fold to a 4bet. I don't know if its just me but I do not see ppl 4betting light at the lower stakes, even shorthanded (especially at ft's). I think at widest his range was 88+, AQo+, AJs+ to which I can fold if I 3bet smaller. Please tell me if I am off my rocker.

If you're going to fold to a 4 bet just call or fold pre.
