Default Family pot, flop Q-hi flush

I need help with this one . . . sorry, no hand history:

Very early in the tournament -- second level, stacks are about even. I'm in the cutoff with QTs. Several limpers in front of me.

I normally fold this hand, especially early in the touney, but this is a great limping hand early in a tourney, so I called. The sb completed, and the bb checked.

Flop comes J73 suited, giving me the Q-high flush. Checked around to me, I bet 2/3 pot.

The sb check-raises me to 75% of my stack. He's in the sb and could have anything. It's shove or fold. I'm worried that he is on an A or K flush draw, but I have to go broke right? I'm hoping he has a set or a made flush worse than mine and I will double up.

What do you do? I can't imagine folding, so I shove, yes? Why play QTs in this position if you aren't going to go broke with a flush?

Yes, standard. He could have a lot of things worse than a higher-flush draw or made flush.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

Personally I still fold it even with all the limpers in front - not sure how much I like a broadway one-gapper in the CO. I can't imagine that calling is a terrible leak however given the implied odds you're getting.

Exactly - which is why I would go broke with this hand. There are a LOT of hands that you beat that will play like this.

I fold preflop, but you hit perfect and time to go broke. The A,K high flush are far more unlikely than a baby flush, flush draw or two pair.
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

don't be worried he has an A or K flush draw, hope he does.

Thanks for the reality check. Unfortunately, on this hand, I was already pwned on the flop. (I know, don't post results, but it doesn't matter.)

My take-home lesson from this hand is that I don't need to play QTs in this spot. (Although a cheap flop can't be that bad, I don't need it.) I knew this already; I just needed to be smacked as a reminder.

I don't think you need smacking. Your play was fine so long as the players behind you were unlikely to raise, and someone having a bigger flush is a cooler, not a moral lesson.

Got to do it, poker just doesn't give the best results always when you expect them
