Default Colin Moshmann's book on sng strategy

    Hi,
I'm a book addict and play mostly mtts. I'll also occassionally play some sngs &/or sng satellites.
I've read alot of stuff on sng strategy but my play has been in micro buyin levels and currently running a neg. roi. (just over 400 games). It was actually +15% for the first 6mos. online but not anymore.
My question is pertaining to Moshmann's book. Is it worth reading in your opinion?... and why (aside from the obvious that lately I'm a losing player... lol). Oh yah.. incidentally... my mtt play is pretty good, ITM above 25% on Stars & FT and ROI +217% which I can live with.
With mtts, I have studied and studied and studied... it's sngs that can be hell for me although I seem to be getting it in with best about 90% of the time when I go out, play TAG style, but maybe just a bit too tight for opening requirements.
    tks.

Moshman's book is worth a read. I don't think it's the best poker book ever written but it's not bad for SNGs.

400 games isn't a large enough sample to indicate whether your true ROI is negative or positive. You could just be running bad. The other important thing is that the bubble factor is MUCH more important in 1-table SNGs than it is in MTTs. There are some situations on the bubble that would be insta calls in MTTs that are insta folds in SNGs. Look at this hand for example:

If you are making the wrong calls (for SNGs) in these sorts of situations this can very materially affect your ROI.

Anyway, for some more concrete feedback, post some hands/tourneys.

It's well worth the money. It has really helped me understand both position and aggression a lot better, although there's no substitute for practice!
