AQs, A high dry flop, opp shoves ($30)

Default AQs, A high dry flop, opp shoves ($30)

Normally this would be a bit of a loose preflop call, but since opp's stats were 42/33 I figure I'm way ahead of his range.

Should I have 3-bet preflop? Reason I didn't was that if he called I'd be playing a monster pot OOP and stacks would be too deep to 3-bet and shove the flop. Insta call to the flop shove over, right?

pre seems really standard to me, and i don't mind 3betting for value. but that's coming from a cash-game background. as played, against someone seemingly so bad and spazzy i think we have the required equity to call off the shove.

We can talk about folding AJo and ATs but probably never folding AQs here. I'd probably lead or c/c flop instead of c/r but it can't be too bad, as played calling.

folding pre is terrible vs anyone

c/c flop is much better, if he has an ace you're getting the money, if not you're just letting him off the hook. If you then considered folding after the c/r it's even worse, ask yourself what hands he could have where it makes sense to raise/fold

since everyone else is in agreement, tai, can you talk about folding this hand pre normally? I feel like this is the perfect hand to flat with especially vs. this guy, and I'm probably not folding too many flops against him either.

Actually, on reflection I don't think I'd ever fold this hand preflop even against a tight player since the raise is coming from the CO. If the raise was coming from EP then we can have a discussion about whether we fold if the raiser is tight, etc.

If villian's stats are over a decent sample size I dont see anything wrong with 3betting pre (what is his 3bet calling stats?).

I think both C-R and leading are fine, I am calling the shove 100% of the time here

I would smooth pre, c/c flop, and probably c/r turn or bet out, depending hugely if the turn is a card he would double barrel at. If you c/c the flop what percentage of the time is he going to double- barrel the turn?
