Default 99 flops all unders ($22)

No reads, do we give credit to the UTG raise or c/r?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is $40 (9 handed) by Hand Converter CG

    UTG ($2520)
    UTG+1 ($2140)
    MP1 ($4860)
    MP2 ($400)
    MP3 ($1780)
    CO ($1900)
    Button ($2440)
    Hero ($1960)
    BB ($2000)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9, 9.
UTG raises to $160, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, Hero calls $140, BB folds.

    Flop: ($360) 4, 7, 7 (2 players)
    Hero?

C/C his bet to what looks like a C-Bet. Then keep check calling him down. I think he's on AQ here, maybe AK or AJ. Be careful of the flush and any paint though.

I like leading out and folding to a push. If we c/c all streets we are going giving hands like AK the chance to improve and allowing overcards to come. c/r is better than c/c, but then we lose our stack every time he has a higher overpair which in this situation should be a lot.

Hero checks, UTG bets $760, Hero folds, UTG shows Kc, Ks.

The overbet screamed big pocket pair. Let's say he had bet $250-300 on the flop instead, c/r?

This is why I like leading out. I really don't know. Calling is OK I guess, then c/f turn, hope he doesn't fire again... c/r instantly gets value from AK/AQ/~AJ but then we're screwed if he has an overpair. Lead out then give up is probably the best option imo, although this is a horrible spot...

I lead out on this flop for 250 or so. If opp raises we know we're squarely beat (the only hand that we beat that would raise on this board and also have raised preflop is 88). If opp just flat calls I check the turn and see what happens.

Love opp's overbet, if he had just bet a typical c-bet amount then as played I would have been sorely tempted to shove over.

Yeah that makes sense. One would think that at $22 we'd be against AA-QQ here most of the time, I'm really amazed at how often I've seen AK/AQ here.

Are you saying you don't raise AK and AQ UTG?

Haha no, I meant I often see AK pushing a missed flop here.
