50/50 Sngs on stars

Did anyone gave them a shot ?

Seems like a fun variation which is somewhere in between DoN and regular Sngs

Haven't been on Stars in a little while, what's the format?

The tourney ends when half the field is eliminated (like DON) the remaining players get their buy in back and the remaining 50% of the prize pool is divided by stack sizes

I've played in a few of the $10 (9.30 + .70 registration). Pretty easy to beat really, just slow play the first couple of rounds and someone usually slips and makes a bad call.

I've played the 6-max version and ranged from 3rd place for over 12 dollars, to 1st place for just under 25 dollars.

Not a bad way to spend 30 minutes (Turbo 3 min blinds).

Edit: Half the field wins 9.30 plus .31 cents for every 100 chips in your stack.

Sounds neat, but ICM decisions could be a little tricky.

Not all the time. In the lower levels of them, someone (or multiple people) seem to think they just HAVE to make a reraise out of position without the cards to do it with. Really easy to make a profit.

I could just be running well in them, but I haven't not placed so far (about 16 games I think).

Sounds like DONs before the fish figured them out!

^^ Yea pretty much haha. A lot of people seem to be playing pretty loose at the start, and then realizing when the bubble hits what kind of game they are playing.
