Hero and villian are regular players in this weekly home game, this is the first time we are playing heads up
Images: Villian is usually a tight player and is usually not aggressive without a made hand, however he is opening his game up as the table gets shorter, from Hero's read on villian when he is bluffing it is usually with a bullet on the flop.
Hero is relatively LAG, villian's view of hero is that hero is very loose and bluffs a lot, villian's view of Hero thus is that he sees hero has looser then he really is
Preflop: Hero raises to 500 (you should really be minraising no antes espeically with this stacksize) with 36s. villian calls. Hero's plan for HU is to raise every hand on the button until he encounters real resistance, since I believe I can often steal the blinds preflop or play in position, I believe I will not be 3betted much ,
I think this is a very correct way of developing your strategy, good job. I agree with your plan.
the one downside is that villian will likely call with very strong hand trying to trap, I also think I can outplay villian in most pots postflop, villian calls
my view on villian range for a call is low-mid PP, Ax, K7+, any 2 broadway and maybe mid SC I'd bet good money it's wider. I bet you see random K3o Q7o type hands.
Pot is 1000
Flop is QQ3 rainbow, hero also has a backdoor FD FWIW. Villian checks, hero bets 600 villian shoves - Hero: ?
I dont think there is even a 5% chance that villian is pushing with a Q here, he will likely call and try to trap with a Q
How long have you played so far. If you've been running over him, I can envision him having an AX type of hand a lot which makes it a call. If not, I probably fold, I think you run into A3, K3 or a pp a lot and given he seems to play poorly you can pass up this marginal EV situation in order to take advantage of very high +EV situations later.
