I was in a very similar situation yesterday with 10 10 and I shoved there but the guy showed us his JJ... If I had QQ he would have been at my position. 10 10 should have been folded there. I think I overplayed them. Maybe even Js can be folded there since the guy didn't reraise preflop and I didn't put much in the pot.

Nothing wrong with a shove here in my book.

Any read on villain? If he is a smart player, he may have you on two overs and throwing out a c-bet, which means he could be raising with anything.

I'm not saying shoving is always the right thing to do, but I think you get called by a lot worse hands ie A8, K8s, Q8s, 99, AK, 89s, 77, 66, and lots of players will fold to the shove.

And anyway, its nice finishing 10th on the 3rd hand. Far better than wasting half an hour and coming 5th.

I've found myself in these positions a lot lately and its usually villain dependent for me. This is only a min raise so I don't know if he's all that strong. Calling here is bad in my opinion. Shove or fold. Since there are no reads I say go with your gut. I'd shove but thats just me.

he stacked somebody already AA vs AK first hand AI pre he played it straitforward. I have no reads and i ended up folding and i think i had like 1100 or so left. seemed like a reasonable stack that early on. I did end up coming back and taking first so i dunno. Dont want to be results oriented but seems pretty risky that early. dunno guess it could either way huh? maybe just player dependent.

if you have no read, maybe keep sharkscope open, you then get 20 secs once you get in a tricky spot to look up villain & check his stats.

If nothing else it should help you narrow down his starting hand range.

here was another nasty one with TT again fold or shove?? hehe same tournament actually. villian is 25/9 out of 44 so not much there. and the other guy is from the first TT hand.

hmmmm....I'm more inclined to fold this one, as villain raised preflop, and is effectively shoving a 3 way hand.

Here you have effectively no fold equity, and villains range is tighter than above.

not sure if i could fold this hand, but to a preflop raiser, but then again, you never know unless you played with that person before, and is know to tryto reraise to take the pot, they might have a hand like 2 overs, or 8s or 9s something like that, i think i would call

in these tourneys, and I play them a lot, I'm not folding an over pair on the flop.

Too many players will raise a ragged flop with anything because so many people are fold happy. I've seen these same types of raises with 2 overs, draws, top pair/weak kicker and so forth to make it a mistake to fold.

yeah, sometimes they show up with the goods and it sucks to lose TT to JJ in a flop like that. The times they show up with the hands you slaughter make up for it...imo.

You had the opportunity to see another interesting hand by folding the first one for cheaper price. I wonder if this guy was on the same table with you when the first one happened.

Early levels UTG w T-T I'm going to limp in. Too often in early levels you see a bunch of calling stations and then end up seeing a flop with overs and sitting out of pos.
In your first hand (as played) I'd reraise A.I. to villain's raise. If he was on QQ+ preflop he'd be 3-betting you wouldn't he... maybe with J-J as well.
