Default $15/180 TPNK to minraise on flop

Hi all, it's been a long time since I've been on this forum, haven't played any poker for more than a year but for shits and giggles I fired up a $15/180 tonight since I had a few hundred bucks in my Stars account.

Don't have any particular readings on Villain but HUD stats showed something like 33/8 at this stage.

From my very rusty experience I suspect that I'm committed to this with 40% of my stack already in, so apologies if this is a basic question!

5 folds, Hero raises to t250, 1 fold, SB calls t200, 1 fold

    Flop: (t600) 5, Q, A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t350, SB raises to t700, Hero ????

    Hello and welcome back there.

This is a tough spot putting him om something, he could have QdXd, XdXd, Ax, A5, but i think i could fold this if i had a good feeling about this guy, it looks strong, but in the other side, he could do this with any fd possible, ofc with something he could call the flop with. But mostly we can only be behind at this spot, so i do not really know if it is a clear fold or we can give it a shot hoping he have some Ax that we beat or even he have A9, A10, AJ we can go for a split or even hit our 3outer, but nice spot to post about. I would love to see some experienced answers on this.

I think this is a fold. Stats of 33/8 indicate loose passive. When a loose passive donk minraises a flop cbet on Axx, then imo he has better than top pair. I think this guy calls flush draws at a much higher frequency than raising, and when he does raise he probably shoves to maximise his fold equity, rather than trying to keep you interested with Ax. We can still fold this and switch to short stack mode, we have a few hands before bb so no need to feel committed with a beaten top pair.

    tai!

I fold pre (def min open with no antes if you open), check flop as played. hard to get two streets of value if they are flop and turn

I'm not folding an ace on the CO vs a 33/8 on the bb. And I'm not checking flop with top pair on flush draw flop vs a loose passive donk. Only reason I'm folding flop is because he minraises. Had he shoved I might find a call.

Definitely with your stack you should be min raising pf and betting smaller on the flop.

I'm not folding this to his min raise.

    P.S. Nice to see you

2-2.1X pre, 1/2 psb on flop or so. as played i'd prob fold.

Agree with smaller pre and smaller cbet, but really feels like a fold after minraise on flop for me.

Donkbee could you explain why you don't want to fold postflop here? <-------- Love to learn

Unless you have a really solid read, it's usually not good to be folding top pair when you raise with such a shallow stack preflop. I'm not wild about his min raise, but it's not always going to be with something that beats you. And it's just soooo bad when you fold the best hand here.

Ok I get that shallow part and yeah it really SUCKS to fold the best hand and what about to just check back flop here in stead of always c betting this flop?
