Value Calling OTR

    Default Value Calling OTR

Had one of those nights... -5BIs

Pretty sure there wasn't too much spew except calling a jam vs a SS with TT trying to catch an AK, KQ or an AQ but was JJ....

I was trying to play less passively. The passive me would have folded OTR in hand 1 and called OTR in hand two. The idea was to play solid, aggressive poker.

I've played 3.8K hands of 2nl SNAP and the pool size varies from 100 to 300 depending on the day, but in only 5 days there has been 2,671 different players and the vast majority are clearly not regulars, just 'fish' that come in ans throw a bit of loose change about...but just couldn't seem to get anything going,,,,

For the sake of sanity, here's a typical hand which I lost a lot of tonight....pretty sure this is +EV vs their range but you know when you start to doubt it...

    Hand 2

MP raises OTR with any flush and calls any re-raise

Calculate Equity when MP raises OTR as 0.36

    EV (folding ) = 0

    EV (calling) = (0.36 x 1.00) + (0.64 x -0.41) = +0.10

    EV (Shoving) = (0.36 x 2.44) + (0.64 x -1.84) = -0.30

    Hand 1

I did actually put them on an Ax OTT. He could have 44 but not going to bet OTR with that.

    OTR Equity = 0%

    Fold

h1 is ok. I'd be tempted to stab the flop when he checks. He calls, so I'd give up, but yeah this river bet is small and I'd make a crying call just so I can see what he's min 3betting with.

h2, this is not a cooler, it's spew. Stacking the turn is just a disaster. Our hand is not very strong at all, certainly not against aggression. I'd b/f turn and if he just calls, then maybe there's value on the river too. But against a raise, we are crushed. We can never expect to see a worse flush or a set, not to this turn action. Fold to turn raise.

h1..it was like some crappy Ax...

h2...Wow, you wouldn't even call the min raise OTT.....worse than I thought.....

H1 meh ,you could argue for folding to the min 3bet , but f*ck it , if he wants to price me in to flop some sort of draw i'm calling.flop meh i'd probably check behind in case he check raises us if he then leads the turn i'm folding , if he checks i'm checking behind and if he bets river small i'll call as ong said to see what he min sbets with , and we do have some showdown value vs 66-TT ,KQ etc

H2 looks ok until you called his turn raise , he's not scared of the 4 flush and when he raises your bet he pretty much always has a Qh or Th there

H1 is often 44 or Jx. Probably c/c with a weak A. I would have called anyways that small bet to find out. Meh!

H2 I am with OngBonga here. This is spew. There is never ever a weaker flush here as played. Call the turn min-reraise but fold to any further aggression on the river. Tough luck though that you tried to represent what he actually had.

if a weaker flush is never min raising that turn why call to then fold the river . Thats pretty much just spew as well.
