SSNL thoughts?

    Default SSNL thoughts?

Playing $25NL slightly underrolled on Bodog right now. I really don't like playing without a hud/notes and there is no rewards or bonus on the site. I have HEM which has just expired and I can't justify buying HEM 2 until I am either playing higher and on a site that it works on.

Yes I am Canadian so I can play on Stars and FT. Games are super soft on Bodog vs stars though. I will finally be getting more time to play again and gotta settle on a site for many reasons. Thoughts? Play Soft Bodog 4 tabling and no hud/notes or play a tougher site, grind more tables slightly lower stakes and get HEM/PT4 when the roll allows?

I've been playing without a HUD for a long time now. My desktop is awful, and my laptop even worse. I just try to make plenty of notes to compensate.

Small stakes games at stars are harder to beat now than they used to be. 5 years ago I could absolutely crush 2nl and breeze through 5nl, wheras now I can beat 2nl and seem to hit a brick wall at 5nl. Need a HUD to progress really. This is pretty much why I've switched to mtts and badugi; a HUD is an unreliable distraction in a format with increasing blinds, and badugi I have a huge edge over the small stakes field.

I've never played bodog, only ever stars FT and briefly WSOP and William Hill. I should probably look into other options.

Just grind on stars and start lower. 10nl reg tables are bad enough that you should always be able to find tables with plenty of fish and bad regs. Then when you get back into the swing of things you can start playing 25nl when your roll hits the required amount you want to play 25nl.

Really though depends on what your longer term goals are. If you're just looking to earn some extra $ then you may as well play on the softest site possible.

I'm beyond playing poker for anything other than grinding a regular withdrawal. $50-$100NL will probably be my limit because of the study time I have to put forward for now. I seem to be most comfortable grinding 6 tables taking notes using a preflop hud though. Bodog seems like ABC all day long.

Then just play the site with the weakest competition whose software you don't hate. 50 & 100nl on stars will just continue to get tougher and tougher so if you cba doing much work then you'll just get left behind and if you never played much higher in the past and/or haven't player proper for ages then it's a curve you're probably already behind.

UK/europe are shut out of bodog /bovada Ong . you just can't download a client as it detects your country via IP address. US friends are playing bovada simply because players are so bad , payouts are quick and merge are restricting winners to 1 or 0 tables and games are tough on WPN as all the regs that want to use a HUD and get rakeback are grinding there.

Canadians run into the problem of no skrill/(neteller?), and some sites don't accept canadians. ipoker varies some sites will some won't.Not sure about 888 for canadians , but games are meant to be fishy as limited to 6 tables and very little in the way of vip rewards and no rakeback allowed.

There's ways to get around IP detection, surely. Not that I'm going down that path, there's gonna be many other obstacles. Weird that they don't cater to Europe, when including Russia it's a bigger market than USA.

I would play at bodog if I were you and just four table without a hud. The competition is really soft and I see it staying like this for a long time due to there anonymous feature, there four table max, lack of nice rakeback system which all help to keep a lot of regs away.

Take a look at Sky Poker, as long as you don't find the software tilting.
