118 hands... you must have seen him do something like this already?

If not, chances are he's not doing this with a flush draw and we should fold. But I would have expected him to have shown us something by now that would give us a huge clue to whether he has 66/Jx or diamonds.

I'm folding unless I have notes that specifically imply that he does this with flush draws, or maybe 88/99 type hands.

Pay attention to what people are doing, even when you're not in the hand.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see something dumb here like 22 or KK+. Guys with these stats don’t usually fast play trips in this spot, instead preferring to slow plat to an extreme. Not folding and not worried if I lose, as we’re good often enough in my experience.

I agree that there's muppets out there who can do this with any pocket pair, but if that's the case with this guy, we'd surely know by now? He'd be doing stuff like this too much. We wouldn't need to ask if this is a call, we'd just snap the shit out of it and sigh when he beats us.

If this is unusual, if this is the first time he's made a massive overbet shove on the flop, he almost certainly has the nuts (or close to) and just hopes we have a big pair that we can't fold. I mean we've all seen AK make these kind of calls before, we watch in amazement as people call off their stack with ace high. This guy might just be the kind of guy who got that call from AK once and doesn't mess about with the nuts.

118 hands is sufficient to have a solid idea in this regard. I hope OP returns with some more info on villain.

I think my point is, a donkey who goes wild with 22 or whatever is going to have done something terrible by now, bad enough for us to know this is an easy call.

If we don't know this is an easy call, chances are we should fold.

You're not making a mistake folding this. Assume unknowns at this stake have the nuts if they overbet unless proven otherwise. That doesn't mean you won't regularly see some random hands here, and I'd call this against a lot of players, but I'd want to have a note on the player other than just the stats.
The strengh of a hero is defined by the weakness of his villains.

Snapping and super happy about it.

Villain does not see A or K on flop and thinks his 10's are good. AJ just seems so unlikely.
