Ok, so I'm live player, winning at 1/2 and 2/5. Studied the game from that perspective for years, and now I'm just transitioning to online because I can't play as many hours as I used to at the casino and kinda wanna just "stay sharp" if that makes sense. Pre-black friday I played SNG's alot, but can't say I had great results.
So in live play, I definitely shade my raises bigger. That's because people call with lots of dog shit that misses the flop and my cbets/double barrels are hugely profitable. If I'm gonna steal a pot, shouldn't it be a big one?
My typical raise size live is 7-12x. So what's wrong with a 4x raise online?
Live, I fold to the 3b. Bad implied odds, easily dominated, and the player pool does not have a propensity to ever raise with worse. My impressions, based on a small amount of superficial research and playing for a bit, is that online 3bet ranges are wider, and KJ suited is worth defending. True or false??
Again, live, I check back the turn. Pretty tough to get called by KT in that spot, I want busted spades to bluff again, and I expect to win a lot a showdown.
Here are we saying I could get called by KT? Will he just check/fold missed spades on the river? Or am I betting strictly for equity protection here, trying to get the guy to fold A5 or something?
Not really sure what to say about reads. I don't have any. I don't use a HUD, and I find its hard to keep track of people's tendencies when they don't have faces. I guess I'm just looking for what would be a balanced, default approach to this hand against an unknown.
