    BB 112bb

    Pre-Flop: daven is UTG
daven raises to 3bb, 2 folds, BTN calls 2 folds

    Flop: (8bb, 2 players)
daven bets 6bb, BTN raises to 14bb, daven calls 8bb

    Turn: (36bb, 2 players)

    Was it me on tilt?

I hate these spots. I call down all the way, but I so often run into sets.

Thought this could be me. Until this:

Meh, I mean what does villain pot turn with? Are levelling wars likely? I just don't see many regs potting turn with a flush draw in position when we look like tp/overpairs/flush draws so I think we can fold it. Flop call seems mandatory when reg on reg to avoid exploitation, albeit he's likely set heavy.

Why did you do what you did?

PRE is standard, C-bet OTF is standard.

What was your thought process on calling the flop raise?

    Why did you check OTT?

    Why did you shove OTT?

This seems standard for an overpair hand. You have showdown value, but not a hand that can get 3 streets of value from too many players.

his range contains a bunch of junk that folds to a flop 3b, some stuff i'm flipping against, and a few strong hands. Calling kept his range the weakest possible as well as making me look kinda drawy.

to induce a bet that i could shove over, i figured he'd bet nearly all of his holdings and think my shove is fos a lot of the time, and crying call his air with a few outs as well. Obviously he can have hands like 55/33/JTs and meh, but i figured these combos are outnumbered by the hands i beat.

Basically i'm trying to figure out if the assumptions i made that lead to the line are flawed or solid.

This is just one of those spots that will never be easy, and is so player dependent.

Given you're UTG, I'd say JJ is even possible here, among the other sets. But there are no two pairs, so it's really 9 combos.

His turn sizing is weird/huge. Not sure what to make of that. That being said, despite such a big sizing, I don't think it necessarily has to be a shove/fold spot. Leaving half pot behind on the river isn't horrible if you just call again. You have a fair number of Jxdd that might c/c turn again, and other Jx, so having a calling range seems ok.
