Default BB calling range vs chronic min-raising?

Hi, I'd like to hear what people think a good flatting range is when you're in the big blind facing a min-raise. Assume we're in a game where min-raising is common, the game is loose passive, and you're not really looking to bulldoze anybody. You're more nut mining.

How wide do you call getting 3:1 preflop oop vs a loose-passive with a wide range?

What if it's multi-way and you're getting 5:1 or better preflop?

    Thanks.

Hmm, I wouldn't really look to nutmine here - you're up against too wide a range, although I do understand that in your games you can probably still expect to play medium sized pots against pretty weak holdings.

    I'm 3b JJ+ and AK for value (and a balanced range of bluffs) from the BB vs a button open, flatting like 44-TT, A2s+, K8s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, JTo, Q9o+, K8o+, A2o+

If it's going multiway, I think relative position is the thing - I would flat tighter if it's like an EP limp and an LP isolation, but if it's an UTG raise + callers, I'd call probably something similar to the above, excepting that I'd just be folding the offsuit trash which only really plays well against a wide BTN opening range.

I think, if it's loose and passive, unless you know someone is button stealing a lot I'd still give a button open (even a minraise) some respect. I'd just look to raise with almost any two cards whenever anyone limps the button which I presume is common at your games then take a stab at a lot of flops.

Well there's two sorts of minraises we face on the bb, and both are very different.

If it's button vs bb, we're oop and should be tighter.
If it's bvb, then we're ip and can be looser.

I'm playing hands that look nice bvb to minraise. That includes crap like 23s.
I'm not adjusting much from my calling range vs x3 opens vs button.

Oh and third type of minraise... from early or mid with lots of callers... I'll play super wide here.

This is really something you just develop a feel for over grinding thousands of hands because so many factors come into play when building blind defense ranges. (hint: our likelihood of getting to showdown will be a main one in figuring out which hands to defend in what ways)

Programs like CREV or flopzilla can help in building intuition by messing around with ranges away from the table, but this will have to be complemented with volume. I would advise learning how to use these tools effectively if you want to improve at a faster rate.

Play CAP games if you really want to figure out big blind defense. You can't beat it without a very solid strategy from the BB.

This is very difficult to say. It is HEAVILY dependent on how well you play postflop.

What if you were pretty confident you had an edge, you knew you weren't going to get stacked light, that you could find a fold, and there were plenty of villains who would pay off big hands? If all that were the case, how wide would you go?

I've mostly been playing my 'complete the small blind in a multi-way limped pot' range which is already pretty wide at 35%. I feel kinda stupid though folding anything besides offsuit big/little hands to a preflop min-raise.

I think 35% is probably about right, I think I'm a bit tighter than that. It shouldn't really matter how stupid folding stuff feels unless you are confident that calling is no more -EV than 1bb each time you play it.

I'm flatting a lot more in the BB than I ever was before, and probably some of the hands I'm doing it with are currently losing me money (although it would take so long to get a significant sample I might never know), but I figure you don't improve unless you try to sometimes put yourself in marginal spots.

I probably cold call like 28-30% on the BB to a btn min raise and maybe 10-13% on SB, I'd have to check.
