    Default 2NL 6max Button Series

These next series of hands will be on the button, as most seem to think my foundation of PF range is the major starting point for me. I can't show you such a wide range, as to all my open raise hands though HH's. Instead I will go with hands to study from PF positions and learn how to better play the position to gain more value, lose less, and make decisions easier. Your help was awesome with the last subject and I hope to learn as much this series. I plan to write a follow-up post telling you all I learned about continuation betting. Through discussion, I think the Button is the place for this next series of hand histories. I won't begin the posts with just PF, as the rest of the hand's lines and reactions stems from that initial choice of action. Try to focus on how I play the btn as you write your critique.

    My default btn range: {22+, A2s+, K2s+, Q8s+, J7s+, T7s+, 96s+, 85s+, 74s+, 64s+, 54s, A2o+, KTo+, QTo+, J9o+, T8o+, 98o, 87o}

I won't post any stats for Villains with less than 50 hands. Any thought to a standard range of stats would be appreciated, because putting some in sometimes and others in next time, will give away too much as to how hand played out.

By default my stats will be 18/10/45/4.9/ats 19/f2s 81/cb 82/f2cb/3b 4.0/f23b 77/4b 4.7. Obviously I was losing during these 30,000 hands at ACR. Stats will change soon as my HUD and I work out a HH issue with BOL hands. I will solely post BOL hands from then on out with my newer style and stats. I am steal way to passive I know.

How did you pick the hands you open on the button?

Lots of your stats seem way off and if I'm reading what you posted correctly you're not defending anywhere near enough, folding to far too many steals, far too many c-bets, far too many 3-bets. Remember that when you're working on you playing from the button put yourself in the shoes of the blinds sometimes so you get a feel of what you should be defending.

Bare in mind that when people are folding enough you can profitably bet ATC.

Button default 3bet defense - when it comes from this position:

    UTG: KK+, AKs

    MP: QQ+, AQ+

    CO: JJ+, AQ+

I know I play it too safe. 3betting is a big part of holding onto position from button. I have no default against SB and BB, as player stats weigh in heavily on steal attempts scenario. I definitely could use help with this area of btn play and I'm sure it will come up often in this series.

This. Your standard ranges are fine but keep in mind that your button range is always fluid, more so than at any other position. Some villains fold a highly exploitable amount to steals. This is where pro table selection is so +EV because you can literally print money over and over. Of course some villains will adjust, but then again some won't... especially the multi-tabling rakeback grinder nits. These are the guys you want to seek out and sit to the dead right of. It's literally the easiest method of improving your win rate.

There's also other discussion to be had as well, like defending re-steals, cold calling and defending your button against loose CO players who think it's open season to play two button spots. Fuck those guys.

Your default BTN range looks like my suggested range to open from the BTN when there are only folds and limps leading to your action.
Why do you choose this range in this spot?
What are the various groups or parts of this range, and what do you hope to accomplish with each part? What are the most common betting lines you expect to use when you open with each group?

    E.g.
Are you planning for the same post-flop betting lines from your AXo as your SC's and S1G's?

Yes, There wasn't a lot of discussion, so I took your OR position ranges as my baseline in this little starting over experiment, which I am very excited about.

1 - Because I chose your range as my default, before making any in-game adjustments to players/situations. I needed a base and this was looser than my than my original, thus would push me. Yet not so far from my old default, that I felt comfortable adding in the new hands and playing them for a raise. (Although I am currently always finding reasons to adjust my range stronger at the loose tables. Still very unhappy with my VPIP/PFR gap.)

    2 - 88+/mid and low pairs/ A2s+, K2s+, A2o+/ SC's, SG's-USC's, USG's

3 - 88+: Medium to large sized-pots with sets ands overs. PF folds and CB opportunities for small pots.

    - Mid to small pairs 77-22: Medium to large sized-pots with sets. PF folds and CB opportunities for small pots.

    - A2s+, K2s+, A2o: Medium to large sized-pots with made straights and flushes, trips, 2pr. Small to medium-sized pots with TPXK. PF folds, CB, and barreling opportunities for small to mid-sized pots with draws.

SC's-Gappers, Unsuited-connectors, and USG: Medium to large sized-pots with made straights and flushes, trips, 2pr. PF folds, CB, and barreling opportunities for small to mid-sized pots with draws.

4 - I find too many variables to be expected to give you any definitive lines postflop. It is too opponent dependent that a blind line drawn in the sand seems a waste of time for everyone. But I am pretty new to line discussion anyways. Help would be needed in these cases.

Btn RFI opening range looks okay. I might drop some weaker suited gappers and add in some more offsuit kings and queens, but seems fine for a starting point.

Just my 2c, but for the skills You showed postflop, i think You are too loose preflop.
All posts are just my own opinion about a hand or a general situation... not advices on how you should play...
