25z: flop line?

    Default 25z: flop line?

Same villain as hand just posted. Shaping up to be a maniac now at 40/30 with 20% 3bet over 50 hands.

I'm assuming most responses will be "flat flop obviously", but we likely get barrelled off most run outs that we miss.

    SB: $19.75 (79 bb)
    BB: $42.60 (170.4 bb)
    UTG: $30.52 (122.1 bb)
    MP: $29.89 (119.6 bb)
    CO: $18.61 (74.4 bb)
    Hero (BTN): $29.61 (118.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 7 6
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.55, SB folds, BB raises to $2, Hero calls $1.45

    Flop: ($4.10) 3 6 5 (2 players)
    BB bets $2, Hero ????

This is a really bad call pre flop, and you're now faced with two horrible options as a result.

edit - ok we have a straight draw + top pair, not just a shitty top pair, so calling isn't horrible.

Fold pre to 3bet isn't close, but now just call and reassess turn. I'd probably fold turn, assuming we miss, but villain will likely check his AK, which allows us to bluff turn or check back and bluff most of the deck on river. Calling is fine on flop, don't raise or fold.

Just call flop and bet turn once he checks his Q9 or whatever crap he 3bet pre with.

to be honest, as tight as i am, i'd 4b/fold for the moment preflop. as played, i am stacking off on flop. so c/r/call or c/r/raise AI flop.
All posts are just my own opinion about a hand or a general situation... not advices on how you should play...

4b pre is definitely better than calling.

I'm not sure about stacking flop, seeing as I only really consider his overpairs to be getting it in, which we're not favourite against. Our fold equity comes from the hands we're already beating. Just peel and reassess imo. It's a 3b pot, we don't hate every overcard, just Q+.

I think this a fine hand for calling pre with. If we're opening 50% on the button Ong, what 25% of hands would you normally be defending?

We have a ton of equity on this board, and we're raising sets and slow played aces. are we raising nut flush draws? I think this hand is probably too strong to raise, unless we think we can induce spew.

I'm probably not opening 50% on the button, especially vs a maniac. If I was, this would be one of the first hands I'd trim vs a 3b.

I'd just call the flop, don't think we can raise. Evaluate on the turn. Probably call any non-heart, A, K or 2 turn (unless it's a spade).

I think the preflop call is fine given villain's 3bet size. I'd prefer to start 4betting him more and see how he reacts and form my 3bet calling range as either polarized (like with 76s) or linear. As in if he calls a lot of 4bets then make my 4bet range linear and my 3bet call range polarized and do the opposite if he plays more of a shove/fold game vs. my 4bets.
