I posted another ip pre 3b. In this spot I feel like I wanna be hu ip vs this weak y. Whee I can apply some pressure post and get aggro v. A villain like this. Good thoughts?

I'd probably always flat pre, given we're not worried about being squeezed.

As played, I'd probably cbet $1.35ish

PFR numbers by position are useful here to know how positionally aware he is. This can be a 3b for value against certain players, though I doubt this is one of them.

Your thought process is a little off here. At the risk of overgenerlizing, you're never really going to be "applying some pressure post" with this hand because you're pretty much going to at the very least have decent showdown value. It's a good reason to 3b a hand like 54s because you'll win a lot of meekly contested pots, and you'll have high implied odds for the times when you flop something promising and he continues. If anything, 88 plays better in big pots against players who overcommit to 7x on 7-high flops and stuff like that.

Also, the fact that there's a pretty big fish left to act makes it all the more enticing to flat.

Awe, thanks surviva . I've been out off the ground since Jan so yeah my thought process is off. No big deal though. These past couple post are already helping me hone it in
