    Default 1010 vs AA

So I'm just relearning the game after years off... Hoping to get your read on a hand I had today...

First off, I have seen this guy raise with random cards to steal the blinds, and I figured that's exactly what he did and that's why I pushed. After seeing his AA I know I got lucky, but how would you have played this differently, called preflop and then raised on flop?

He played it kind of slow at first so I don't know...

First, you're under-stacked at the start of the hand. Not too bad, but try to chip up to a full buy-in whenever you fall below. You want full value from your all-in moves. When you limit your chips, you limit your potential wins and losses.

OK, so you've seen him raise with random cards to steal the blinds. What range are you putting him on when it's folded to him in CO?

You are considering raising him. If you do, what range of his hands will fold/call/raise?

Using that information, and whatever you consider 'typical' bet sizing,
what hands in your own range can you profitably against raise his CO opens?
(assume it's always going to be heads up for now. It wont. The blinds will get involved sometimes and that changes things a lot.)

    Was TT in there?

Now, he's opened, you've raised, it's heads up and he 3-bets you. What range are you putting him on at this point in the hand?
What is your equity to call?

If you 4-bet shove, what range of his hands will fold/call/raise?
    Using that information,
what hands in your own range can you profitably against 4-bet shove against his 3-bets?

    Was TT in there?

Great hand to post, as this is one of the most common spots and it’s worth creating a default profitable strategy for this spot. You can then deviate from that depending on villain and stack depths.

Key concepts for you to research are fold equity (when considering a raise or jam) and your equity when called. The latter can be derived from a free tool like Equilab. There will be some strategy articles on this site to help you understand these concepts, or you can Google fold equity examples.

FWIW button vs cut off with TT, I will 3bet this hand for value against the cut offs calling range, plus I’m also happy folding out hands like QJo and denying villain his equity. Against his re-reraising range it’s a close spot and decision between call or jam depends on villain and stack depths. Against an aggro Russian or Scandinavian regular with enough bluffs, i’ll rip it in and expect to get enough folds and calls versus hands I’m flipping with. Against recs, I’ll flat if we’re 125bb+ effective (I.e. we both have at least 125bb) and set mine. Any shorter and I’ll let it go. Hands like JJ/QQ in that spot against recs are the borderline hands for me.
