Default [SnG] 3-Handed Flush Draw w/ mid pair

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 100/200 Blinds (3 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php

    Hero (SB) (t4,630)
    BB (t2,390)
    Button (t6,480)

    Hero's M: 15.43

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7, K
1 fold, Hero calls t100, BB checks

    Flop: (t400) 5, 7, A (2 players)
Hero bets t300, BB raises to t2,190 (All-In), Hero ???

BB was pretty wide while 3-handed, played lots of Kx type hands. I put him on flopping top pair here, so anticipated a few more outs with making 2-pair no turn/river. Is this a b/f situation? Thank you.

For mods or vets of the forum: Is it ok to post hands here in beginner's circle for SnG? I didn't see alot of people posting hands in the tourney forum, so I assume it is purely for strategy there and not individual hand analysis.

It's probably best to put this in the tourney forum but I get that there isn't a lot of traffic there.

As played call. Mid pair plus nut flush draw it doesn't get much better than that for 12bb.

I like open shove preflop the best. That will always be +EV with this hand and these stacks/position/etc. and while that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best play, I think it is better than having to play K7o out of position unless BB is extremely bad.

well, if he has top pair, you cannot be an underdog. the problem is if he has flopped the flush or if he has doubles/set. If i know this player has a poor game postflop I would call. when he playe the Kx type hands, did he limp or minraised preflop? cause if he had an ace wouldn't he raise preflop? Also consider the prices. does the 2nd win much more than 3rd? if the answer of this question is no, then I would surely call

Shoving pre-flop is very clearly +EV, and the EV of trying to raise smaller pre and then play the flop will only be marginally better even if you play it extremely well with good reads.

Posting tournament hands here is probably fine.

The call pre sucks. Shove or x2.5. As for what to do now, we're likely behind so it's a question of pot odds. I think I'd assume hitting 2pr or trips would be good the majority of the time, so I'm counting those outs and looking for 50%+ equity. 3x kings, 3x 7s, and 9x clubs, makes 15 outs from 47 cards with two to come. I think we're gonna be good enough to call here, seems like we have somewhere around 55-60%.

But yeah don't open limp pre because there's two better options. The ONLY reason to open limp pre imo is if villain is particularly spewy, like he's gonna default shove any two when sb limps his bb (in which case we snap call), or if he's gonna shove any piece of the flop.

Post the math then we can review your conclusions. Sngs are all about the math. Get demo of sng powertool if thats still around.

Learn basic open shove ranges before you even look at sngs and probably still don't bother with sngs even after that.
