Default [5NL] QQ on the BU

    SB: $7.06 (141.2 bb)
    BB: $7.49 (149.8 bb)
    UTG: $3.82 (76.4 bb)
    MP: $5 (100 bb)
    CO: $5.76 (115.2 bb)
    Hero (BTN): $12.50 (250 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q Q
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.20, CO folds, Hero raises to $0.70, 2 folds, MP raises to $1.70, Hero raises to $12.50 and is all-in

Villain is 16/13, this is the first 3bet he's faced and thus the first 4bet, over 60 hands

Is jamming a mistake here? Surely the worst he calls with is AK given he's fairly nitty, we don't have a history, and it's not like he's opening the BU and I'm 3betting him in the blinds. In retrospect I think calling the 4bet is best but I'm interested in hearing what everyone else thinks.

Yeah, given we have position and villain is looking to be on the tight side, I like just calling the 4bet and seeing a flop.

I'm just curious. Villain is 16/13 , but you have no history personally vs. this guy is what your saying right?. how big of a sample do ya have on him. ya may as well get used to including sample size. obv it takes longer to gain info on tags, and since this is the first time he's been played back at i'm sure it's a small sample, but it's a good habit to get in to help everyone give ya advice.

yep, if that's the range we give him it's a tough spot. also i think if we can get away with a bit smaller of a 3b (.55-.60) because he's folding prob 70%+ , and your sizing doesn't effect his fold freq. I know this advice helped me: if your thinking about 3bing, but don't know what to do when he 4b's, don't 3b.

we need more info about our villain. Just think if we had a note that he 4b w/ JJ & AQs along with our original range:

    BU 48.37% 46.84% 1.52% { QdQc }

    what a difference right?

Villain is a huge nit, so this might be somewhat thin. I would flat this vs someone nitty unless I knew they also called a lot of 3b OOP.

As played, I don't even hate flatting the 4b since we have position.

Sorry, forgot the sample size. We have 60 hands on the guy up to this point. That makes sense don't 3b unless you know what to do to a 4b.

But why doesn't our sizing effect his fold freq? Surely a smaller 3b to say .55 will widen his calling range to include like 55-TT, some suited aces and broadways? But then again you're right, we can't really say this with much confidence as we have such a small sample on him..

yep, and like griffey pointed out, this could be a flat right from the jump vs. a nit.

as far as your sizing, its not out of control big, but when you get 4b it starts making a difference. i think you'll notice a good majority of players 3bing 3x the open raiser. and also i wouldn't exclude 22-TT to most players @ 5nl 3b flatting range. they don't wanna fold pp's
