    Default [5NL] A5s OTB facing 3b pre

    MP: $6.34 (126.8 bb)
    CO: $7.50 (150 bb)
    Hero (BTN): $13.06 (261.2 bb)
    SB: $7.32 (146.4 bb)
    BB: $12.10 (242 bb) {24/21, 16.1% 3b, 0/1 fold to 4b, 74% cb, 9/10 cb in 3b pot, 400 hands}

    Preflop: Hero is BTN with A 5
    2 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, SB folds, BB raises to $0.65, Hero calls $0.50

    Flop: ($1.37) 4 8 A (2 players)
    BB bets $0.83, Hero ??

    I have a note that our opponent once cbet into 4 players with AJs high on a low board, no pair no draw. Probably shouldn't be in this seat with this guy on my left. Our opponent should see us as something like 17/14, 35% ATS, like 65-70% fold to 3b or something.

    Pre I called because we're 240ish deep and I'll have position... though in hindsight his sizing makes me think twice about the size and strength of his range... Call and re-eval turn? If we call and he bets fairly big again OTT we likely want to fold unless we improve?

    Thoughts?

    How often does villain barrel the turn and river?

    If we can't comfortably call two streets with top pair vs an aggro player, then we should just fold to the 3b pre.

    So okay if we're calling pre we're calling flop, then,

    Preflop: Hero is BTN with A 5
    2 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, SB folds, BB raises to $0.65, Hero calls $0.50

    Flop: ($1.37) 4 8 A (2 players)
    BB bets $0.83, Hero calls $0.83

    Turn: ($3.03) 2 (2 players)
    BB bets $1.85, Hero ??

    If he's got something like

    http://www.pokerstrategy.com
    Board: Ad8h4h2h
    Equity Win Tie
    Hero 8.49% 8.40% 0.09% { Ac5c }
    BB 91.51% 91.41% 0.09% { AA, AJs+, A8s, A4s, A2s, KhQh, KhJh, QhJh, KhTh, QhTh, JhTh, Kh9h, Qh9h, Kh7h, AQo+, A8o }

    We've gotta fold this turn right? I mean even if you add any ace to his range we only have 18.5% there.

    My post said don't call if we can't comfortably call TWO streets

    I agree that turn isn't great, but he can also have KQo, KJo, QJo, KTo etc all with one heart conceivably.

    I don't think I call this for reasons griff stated. I either fold this or 4b, probably fold but it depends how often I'm facing a 3b on the button vs this guy.

    I don't think that calling on the flop is the best decision here, for me it would be better if you fold the flop, because there is a big chance to the villain have AJ+, or pocket pair like 88 or AA.
    About the turn I also think that it isn't great and folding here will be the best decision for my opinion.

    I mean if you don't think calling the flop is good then we DEFINITELY should be folding pre. I mean .. what are we hoping for? To flop a flush? Flop 55x? A5x?

    Im quad mining here 100% of the time :P

    Okay so basically we're spewing by calling pre if we're not planning to call when we flop like this vs. an aggro player. Probably for me as a less experienced player I should just be folding here pre until I'm more comfortable in spots like this with better starting hands (ie AJs, like 88-99, etc.)
