The Great Fire of London was the opposite of a disaster. Sure it resulted in many people suffering a horrible painful death, but it also went quite some way to wiping out the plague in London, so it actually had the knock on effect of saving a great many more lives.

While there were no major plague outbreaks in London after the fire, it disappeared from most other major European cities around the same time. And the slums where most of the rats and fleas were escaped the blaze, so it's questionable.
