Is it me, or are these guys common at the PP 6 player tables? I ran into 2 players last night that were almost robotic and a couple more that would try this every now and then.
Are other people seeing this, and what do you do about it?

I play over at Poker Stars, but I ran across someone last night that would raise every pot to $1 pre-flop. I basically didn't play anything unless I had position on that player. When I did have position, I actually started raising his pre-flop (to $2) when I came across a hand like AK, AQ or even AJ. The player would either fold to my raise or fold to my bet on the flop. Someone else at the table finally took him down on a big pot and the $1 raises stopped the very next hand. |

I was refering to post-flop play. But yeah, loose 2x the BB pre-flop raises can be annoying as well. | |

At 6 person table it is correct to be more aggressive and bet much more often. I would not say that it is an automatic thing, but if you voluntarily enter the pot go ahead and be agressive and sometimes in the blinds you have to defend aggressively. At short table the small bets will steal some pots and disguise a superior hand. |

I agree. The 6-max tables seem just right. Plus I like my odds with 1-2 fish on a 6-max table versus 1-2 fish on a 10 person table. |

I either like or dislike them depending on the other players. A 6-handed table with 3 or more good and aggressive players are bad news for me. But since they usually sux worse than ever they are usually offering good value. |

Maybe I'll have to give it a try. I played on Poker Room and short handed tables were tough so I've been avoiding them on PP. But you make a good point that some new people might make the mistake of starting at 6 person table. |
