yeah, this is our biggest in 50 years potentially, even though KC isn't going to get it as bad as they were once saying....they were predicting like 20 inches a couple days ago, 15 as of this morning, now it's down to 10. still, ten is a shitload of snow. Can't freaking wait.

little B is becoming more and more aware of his surroundings everyday, sleeping better at night, not fussing so much before bed, etc...such a great baby, can't wait until he starts running around, talking, he's able to play some catch, etc. it hasn't been easy, and would recommend NOT having kids until you're ready (I don't know if you're ever truly "ready" though!), but it's been pretty awesome.

I got a walgreens, subway, albertsons, mcdonalds and a few other places all about 50 yards across the street. Even if they shut everything down, I can walk over there in two min, so I'm good.

If you guys hadn't heard, Canada's FCC the CRTC has approved Usage Based Billing for its internet providers who are now moving to place 25 GB monthly caps and subsequent per/GB overage charges starting in March. A hilarious failing pile of failured fail.

I get that 25GB is a pretty low cap but I don't get why ppl are all crazy about usage based billing. Hydro, water, long distance, cell phone minutes and data are all usage based. Why should Internet access not be?

I've always had usage based after my plans max hit. I upped my plan from 25gig to 60 gig when I hacked the Wii because a lot of the games are 4 gig each. So I just grab a couple a month. No biggie. Unless you are getting a movie library from scratch, 25-50 gig is sure to be enough.

The capacity sum of strategically placed servers can be higher than the network backbone capacity… when 10 servers are moved to 10 edge locations, total capacity can be 10×10 Gbit/s. - Content delivery network - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That's the other thing - the $2/GB isn't factually correct. I can buy usage on a tiered basis (and the next tier doesn't cost $2/GB, it's cents/GB) and if I exceed my tier then it's $1/GB. I've been on this plan for almost a year, as has everyone on major carriers.

Best I could find was Shaw changing to 100 GB/mo top-tier, $1/GB overage. All of what I said still applies but in a slighter magnitude.

Benny, this isn't about the cost of any network upgrades nor has it ever been; that's just a fairy tale that gets repeated again and again and again until people would believe it to be gospel.

More like 6~8 at 1080p, and 20 at 720P single layer. The average HD movie of proper quality is about 9 gigs.

Since the internet is still so young compared to the others you mentioned, I'd like to think people can still do some good old fashioned voting with the wallets and give the capitalist environment a dose of socialism, or a gut check.

But I'm not getting buttfucked. I don't ever hit my cap and can get 40GB more for only $5 if my needs ever change. I figure buttfucking users who used to download 20 times what I do for the same price is going to save me money in the long run, which is why I'm all for it.

No one owes me service, I pay for the services I get. I'm trying to come up with analogies to better explain my position but I can't and am too lazy to truly think about it at the moment. One of the reasons as to why I can't is because internet service is still unique, and truly one in which the service being offered is not finite in any way, shape or form. You can't "run out of bytes" or something, because the bytes themselves are not actually tangible. Instead, the telco can (and seemingly will) make you run out of bytes.

It's fuckin bacon, spend $3 and get some more, the possibility of eating some bad meat would not be worth it.

I'd cook some and eat it right then, after I know its been just 6 hours and it started out as frozen. But I would not put any uncooked bacon back in the fridge to eat in the future.

i'm just mildly perplexed that a pack of bacon went from frozen to room temperature after being out for 6 hours. i figured it would take longer.

we used to use our kitchen cabinet as our fridge when we were in the Peace Corps cuz we didn't own a fridge. 6 hr bacon is nuttin. The fact that you are drunk made this an even easier yes. Alcohol kills everything.

This is a key point, Ash. Are you saying that 6 hrs before it was frozen? Or it was thawed and then sat there for 6 hrs?

I understand you're saying don't put it back in the fridge. I didn't suggest otherwise. Me asking "Are you saying that 6 hrs before it was frozen?" was intended to mean "Was it in a frozen state 6 hrs ago?"
