    Default List of starting card nicknames

    Hello,

    This is my first post (n00b).
    Is there a comprensive list of the names for starting hands out there? AA = pocket rockerts, KK = cowboys, AK = Big Slick, etc.

    Most poker glossaries have a few, but I was wondering if someone compiled a comprehensive list.

    I've heard J7 called the car before.

    When some guy that folded hand after hand after hand said he was gonna play the next hand no matter what blind... it ended up being J7. As it turns out, he ended up busting his buddy that held AA when 2 pair came on the flop. The reason it's called the car was because his friend was so pissed off, that he made him walk home instead of giving him a ride in his car.

    In S/S Doyle says AQ is called Doyle Brunson in Texas because he refuses to play them
    T2 is obviously called Doyle Brunson because he won the WSOP twice in a row, and held those cards in the last hand. Both times.

    I vote that 66 be called "Annie Duke" because of her two big pots in tournament of champions with sixes.

    Also 74 should forever be called ripptyde.

    And for kicks I call A9 McManus. This is the writer guy who made it to the final table. In his book, Positively Fifth Street he talks about at least two big pots he took with A9.

    i like the big slick, family too:

    AK = big slick
    AQ = big chick
    AJ = little slick
    69 = big lick

    also, i know it is the most nicknamed hand, but a buddy of mine calls AA the missle silo, as in rockets in the hole. thought it was clever. i wonder if like the big time old players know all these names by heart. if at every hand, they think, hey i've got 63, that's the Blocky, while they fold.
    "But they were suited?!?! You idiot!!"

    It's hard work. Gambling. Playing poker. Think about what it's like sitting at a poker table with people whose only goal is to cut your throat, take your money, and leave you out back talking to yourself about what went wrong inside.

    I think pearl jam was being heckled by this kid for breaking their insturments on stage. smashing their guitars into amps and such. The kid was saying you can't do that, nirvana did that first, you're just ripping them off!!

    somebody from the band responded with "Who?"

    The kid got even more upset "Nirvana! Smells like teen spirit! They did it FIRST!"

    "WHO?"
